Research On The Influence Of Digital Economy On The Optimization And Upgrading Of Industrial Structure In The Yangtze River Delta

This article first sorts out the relevant literature research on the digital economy and industrial structure optimization and upgrading.It summarizes the research results on the development of the digital economy and industrial structure optimization and upgrading from the aspects of concept definition,measurement/evaluation methods,influencing factors,and mechanism of action.Based on existing research methods and theoretical foundations,it proposes possible innovative points as the research direction of this article.Secondly,based on the driving mechanism of the digital economy acting on the real economy and the driving mechanism of industrial structure optimization and upgrading,the path mechanism of the impact of digital economy development on industrial structure optimization and upgrading is proposed,and on this basis,a comprehensive evaluation system for digital economy development is constructed-a digital economy development index is constructed from the three dimensions of "Internet development,digital industrialization development,and digital transaction development",Point to three paths in which the digital economy directly affects the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure through "exploring new space for industrial development,promoting the formation of emerging industries,and transforming traditional industries".Then,we will split the level of industrial structure optimization and upgrading from the perspective of "upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure".Taking 41 prefecture level cities in the Yangtze River Delta region as research objects,we will conduct a comprehensive ranking and quantitative analysis of the digital economy development status and industrial structure optimization and upgrading level of prefecture level cities in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2011 to 2020.Finally,a spatial econometric model was established to verify the impact of digital economy development on the optimization and upgrading of China’s industrial structure.This study shows that:(1)From a direct effect perspective,the development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has promoted the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.The development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region can significantly promote the upgrading of industrial structure and have a positive impact on the rationalization of industrial structure.Economic development,social consumption,government intervention,and science and education expenditure have promoted the upgrading of industrial structure,while economic development and government intervention have promoted the rationalization of industrial structure.(2)The development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has a negative spatial spillover effect on the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.The development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has a significant negative spatial spillover effect on the upgrading of industrial structure.The development level of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has a negative spatial spillover effect on the rationalization of industrial structure,but it is not significant.Science and education expenditure and social consumption have a positive spatial spillover effect on the upgrading of industrial structure,while social consumption,foreign investment,science and education expenditure,and financial development have a positive spatial spillover effect on the rationalization of industrial structure.(3)From a comprehensive perspective,the development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has promoted the advanced development of industrial structure,while the development of digital economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has suppressed the rational development of industrial structure.The economic development,social consumption,and science and education expenditure in the Yangtze River Delta region have promoted the upgrading of industrial structure.Social consumption,foreign investment,science and education expenditure,and financial development have a promoting effect on the rationalization of industrial structure.Social consumption and investment in science and education have comprehensively promoted the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure in the Yangtze River Delta region.(4)There are significant regional differences in the impact of digital economy development on industrial structure optimization and upgrading in the Yangtze River Delta region.From the perspective of three provinces and one city,the development of digital economy in Anhui Province has the most obvious promoting effect on the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.Economically underdeveloped regions may have a "latecomer advantage" in promoting the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure through the development of digital economy.(5)Compared with the impact of "Internet development,digital industrialization,and digital trading" on the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,the overall "Internet development" in the Yangtze River Delta region has promoted the upgrading of industrial structure in various prefecture level cities.The "digital industrialization" in the Yangtze River Delta region has the most obvious direct promotion effect on the upgrading of industrial structure,but it is also the most significantly affected by the negative effects of neighboring regions,The direct promoting effect of "digital transaction development" on the upgrading of industrial structure in the Yangtze River Delta region is second to digital industrialization,and is less affected by neighboring regions.Only "digital industrialization" has a significant promoting effect on the rationalization of industrial structure.Based on the above research results,this article finally proposes the following policy recommendations:(1)Increase investment in digital infrastructure construction and digital technology development in economically disadvantaged areas.(2)Establish a coordinated development linkage mechanism for regional digital trade and a long-term counterpart assistance system.(3)Guide digital technology to drive the value transformation of various industries,comprehensively promote digital industrialization and industrial digital development.
