| With the transformation of China’s economic growth stage, new economic forms such as big data and internet finance have achieved vigorous development, and the digital economy has gradually integrated with social production and life. The development of the digital economy has ushered in unprecedented radiation and penetration depth.Grasping the development opportunities of the digital economy is also a necessary part of achieving the rational allocation of resources, reshaping the economic structure, and creating new advantages in international competition.Digital entrepreneurship has emerged as the times require in the popularization of the Internet and the development of the digital economy.Entrepreneurship helps to solve the employment pressure problem in people’s livelihood, and plays an important role in stabilizing the overall situation and releasing market vitality. As an important driving force for exploring new economic growth points, the digital economy provides new opportunities for promoting digital entrepreneurship in the new development situation.Exploring the impact of the digital economy on entrepreneurship can help achieve healthy and stable economic growth. This article takes the digital economy and resident entrepreneurship as the main research subjects, and uses theoretical analysis as the theoretical support for research. It uses CFPS micro household tracking survey data and municipal macro data to conduct empirical analysis to verify theoretical assumptions, and studies the spatial spillover effects of both in subsequent expansionary analysis. The current analysis of the correlation between the digital economy and residents’ entrepreneurship shows that the development index of the digital economy is lagging behind compared to entrepreneurship, but the digital economy has achieved a leap in 2015-2020;The degree of coordination between the digital economy and residents’ entrepreneurship coupling is relatively low,and it needs to be further improved, with the absolute difference constantly expanding; From the perspective of spatial difference analysis, due to the relatively high degree of coordination between the digital economy and residents’ entrepreneurship coupling in the northeast region, while the development of the central region is relatively lagged behind, leading to the largest regional differences between the central and northeast regions, and the low equilibrium of coupling coordination within the northeast region, the main source of spatial differences is hypervariable density. The empirical analysis of micro data from the China Family Tracking Survey(CFPS)shows that the development of the digital economy has a significant positive impact on residents’ entrepreneurial decision-making.This conclusion is still valid after correcting potential endogenous issues and conducting a series of robustness tests. The heterogeneity test results show that the impact of the digital economy on the entrepreneurial decision-making of residents has obvious registered residence, age and regional heterogeneity.Specifically, compared with the agricultural household registration, the development of the digital economy has a significant inhibitory effect on the entrepreneurial willingness of non-agricultural residents; The digital economy has a significant positive impact on the entrepreneurial decision-making of middle-aged groups aged 30-50,while it has a significant inhibitory effect on entrepreneurial decision-making of groups aged under 30 and over 50;The digital economy has a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial willingness in the eastern and central regions, but has no significant impact on entrepreneurship among residents in the western and northeastern regions. The intermediary mechanism test shows that the digital economy has significant social network effects, human capital effects, and market scope effects on residents’ entrepreneurship, with the strongest intermediary effect of human capital investment. The spatial expansion analysis shows that there is a significant positive spatial correlation between the digital economy and entrepreneurial activity in various cities in China, that is,there is a positive spatial clustering feature, and cities with high levels of development are surrounded by cities with intensive entrepreneurial behavior.Using the spatial Dubin model for spatial empirical testing,it is found that the digital economy can significantly promote the promotion of entrepreneurial activity in the region, while having a significant spatial spillover effect on entrepreneurial activity in other cities. The spatial autoregressive coefficient of entrepreneurial activity is 0.1353,indicating that entrepreneurial activity has a significant spatial spillover effect. In the empirical analysis of effect decomposition,it is found that both the direct and indirect effects in the model of digital economy affecting entrepreneurship activity are significantly positive, and the impact coefficient of indirect effects is higher than that of direct effects. This indicates that the digital economy can not only have a positive impact on local entrepreneurship activity, but also the surrounding cities can break through regional restrictions to provide entrepreneurship conditions for local residents, thereby playing a significant role in the development of entrepreneurship activities in the region. |
