Santai County Family Farm Rice Production Link Agricultural Machinery Service Needs Research

"During the 14th Five-Year Plan period,the focus of China’s modern agriculture development is on proceeding the national food security industrial zone,enhancing our ability to ensure the supply of food and major agricultral products and developing the modern agricultural management system.In the process of ensuring food production and promoting agricultural modernization,family farms engaged in rice cultivation play an important role in promoting large-scale rice cultivation.The agricultural machinery service of family farms in rice production is an important condition for achieving large-scale rice cultivation.In recent years,with the structural shortage of agricultural labor and rising wages in non-farm employment,which drives the growth of labor costs in agricultural production activities.A strong demand for agricultural mechanization operations in all aspects of rice production on family farms has been induced.Generally speaking,family farms of rice cultivation can realize agricultural mechanization operations in two ways: one is to independently purchase agricultural machinery for mechanization operations,and the other is to purchase agricultural mechanization services.However,due to the large number of rice planting links,there is a demand for agricultural machinery services for land preparation,rice planting,rice transplanting,plant protection,harvesting,etc.On the other hand,due to the reality of small-scale and decentralized operation of family farms,it decided that each family has to realize mechanized operation through independent purchase of agricultural machinery,which is not economically viable in terms of production.Under the joint promotion of market demand and policy support,the socialization service of agricultural machinery in rice production of family farms effectively alleviates the contradiction between small-scale agricultural machinery operation and large-scale agricultural machinery "strong demand " and "unaffordable " in rice production of family farms.It also breaks the financial and technical constraints on the use of agricultural machinery in family farms,and promotes the development of agricultural mechanization in rice production in a low-cost and high-efficiency way.Through a review of the relevant literature,research on the demand for agricultural machinery services in rice production has focused on a single aspect of rice production.Such as pest control,harvesting and other aspects of the benefits,promotion and constraints of agricultural machinery service needs,and the overall research on the demand for agricultural machinery services in all aspects of rice production has shown little quantitative research.Therefore,it is particularly necessary to explore the agricultural machinery service needs of family farms in various segments of rice production from the perspective of their own needs,and to discover and explore the actual problems in the promotion process of agricultural machinery services in rice production segments.This paper takes the family farms of rice cultivation in Santai County as the research object,explains the demand for agricultural mechanization services in various stages of rice production from the family farm level,analyzes the importance of agricultural machinery services in various stages of rice production.According to the statistics of the questionnaire,the paper analyzed the basic situation of the head of the household,the basic situation of the family farm,the area of rice cultivation,the price of agricultural machinery service and the satisfaction degree of service quality and the current situation of agricultural mechanization service of rice planting family farm in Santai county.The author uses binary logistic regression model to analyze the influencing factors of agricultural machinery service demand in each link of rice production in family farms.The analysis showed that the demand for agricultural machinery services in rice production was influenced by eight factors,such as the age of the household head and whether the household head participated in agricultural machinery training;in the rice planting process,it was influenced by nine factors,such as the amount of agricultural machinery owned by the household and the rice planting area;and in the rice transplanting process,it was affected by nine factors,such as the degree of land contiguity and the price of agricultural machinery services;in the planting process,it was affected by six factors,such as the age and whether the household head joined a cooperative;in the harvesting session,it was influenced by seven factors,such as the amount of family farm machinery owned and whether to join a cooperative.Based on the findings of this paper,among the 13 selected indicators,five indicators passed the significance test in all five segments of rice production,including age,rice planting area,degree of land contiguity,price of farm machinery services,and whether or not to join a cooperative.It indicate that the above five indicators are the key factors affecting the demand for farm machinery services in the rice production segment of family farms in Santai County.According to the above factors affecting agricultural machinery services,this paper puts forward the following countermeasure suggestions: first,accelerate the construction of high-standard farmland;second,vigorously cultivate moderate scale rice growing family farms;third,increase the cultivation of agricultural machinery service subjects;fourth,strengthen the agricultural machinery service system in the rice production link;fifth,increase agricultural machinery purchase subsidies and other countermeasure suggestions.
