The rapid development of China’s tourism industry has led to the development of high-end hotels.The growing number of high-end hotels in Guiyang,a new second-tier city,has increased the demand for senior management talent.It is worth emphasizing that the success of the hotel has a strong correlation with the hotel’s senior management.At present,scholars have little research on the career development path and influencing factors of hotel senior management talents,and pay less attention to Guiyang high-end hotel senior management talents.In studying the career development of hotel staff,most scholars neglect that the individual career development is a dynamic and systematic process in which many factors play different roles in different periods.Therefore,in-depth study of Guiyang high-end Hotel Senior Management Career Development Path and influencing factors for the region’s high-level personnel training and hotel practitioners to promote self-development is of great significance.This paper studies the career paths and influencing factors of top managers in high-end hotels,which play an important role in the high-quality development of the hotel industry in Guiyang.Firstly,this paper defines the concept of high-end hotel and hotel senior manager.This paper mainly adopts the qualitative research method of grounded theory,and takes 34 senior managers of high-end hotels in Guiyang city as the research object,through questionnaire survey and in-depth interview,the data of career development path and influencing factors of hotel senior managers were collected.Secondly,the qualitative analysis software nvivo.12 is used to encode the data step by step,and the core factors affecting the career development path of senior managers of high-end hotels in Guiyang City are summarized,innovative construction of Guiyang high-end hotel senior managers career development path impact factors theory.At the same time,through the analysis of the data collected by the questionnaire,the average length of career development path of high-end hotel managers in Guiyang is explored Based on (?)ub(?)’s career development theory and life process theory,the career development path of senior managers in high-end hotels in Guiyang was summarized,define the stages of career development and explain the roles associated with each stage.Through a series of in-depth analysis of Guiyang high-end hotel senior managers career development path and factors of research.The conclusion of this study shows that the average length of career development path for high-end hotel executives in Guiyang is 8.5 years;The career development paths of top managers in high-end hotels in Guiyang City mainly include three types: organizational inward upward continuous type,organizational inward spiral type,and cross organizational change flow type;The career development of senior managers is divided into four stages: pre career preparation period,career confusion and adaptation period,career integration and identification period,and career empowerment promotion period;There are seven main factors affecting the career development path of top managers in high-end hotels in Guiyang: personal factors,family factors,organizational factors,social factors,psychological capital,example strength and career opportunities.In the career development process of senior hotel managers,there are different roles that have different impacts on different career development stages.Each career development stage is affected by both different factors and the same factors.During the pre career preparation period,their career development is mainly influenced by professional background,career motivation,native family,and accidental events;During the period of occupational confusion and adaptation,their career development is mainly influenced by personal abilities,organizational training,and the power of role models;During the period of professional integration and identification,their career development is gradually influenced by family factors,and is subject to the influence of personal ability,organizational climate,and leadership support;During the career promotion period,their career development is mainly influenced by family factors,career opportunities,promotion policies,and other factors.Personal factors,family factors,psychological capital,and example strength all have an impact on their career development path at four stages.In general,the entire career development path of top hotel managers is dynamically influenced by personal factors,family factors,organizational factors,social factors,psychological capital,example strength and career opportunities.All the factors are related to each other and promote the development of individual occupation.Based on the above conclusions,This research starts with the career development path and influencing factors of high-end hotel executives in Guiyang City,obtains the relevant enlightenment of the training of senior managers in hotels,and puts forward practical suggestions for the self-improvement of the senior managers in high-end hotels in Guiyang City.
