Research On The Influence Of Industrial Agglomeration In The Yangtze River Delta On Regional Integration

In 2018,General Secretary Xi Jinping announced the country would support the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and made it become a national strategy at the first China International Import Expo.The strategy would be together with the construction of the "Belt and Road",the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and other strategies to improve the spatial layout of China’s reform and opening up.The Yangtze River Delta region is the region with the earliest start,the best foundation,and the highest degree of regional integration in China.Now,the regional integration process of the Yangtze River Delta is accelerating.For this reason,this article studies its impact on the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta from the angle of industrial agglomeration.Firstly,this paper summarizes the relevant literature and theories on industrial agglomeration and regional integration.Secondly,the industrial agglomeration is divided into specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration and it analyzes the influence mechanism of industrial agglomeration on regional integration from three aspects: the specialization effect,diversification effect and spillover effect of specialization agglomeration and diversification agglomeration on regional integration.Thirdly,on the basis of the measurement and analysis of the current situation of industrial agglomeration and regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta,the regression analysis is carried out using the linear regression model using the relevant data of the 26 core cities in the Yangtze River Delta from2007 to 2019.On this basis,the threshold regression model is used to analyze the threshold regression of the specialization and diversification of the Yangtze River Delta on the specialization and diversification effects of regional integration under different threshold variables.The conclusions of the empirical research are as follows:(1)Specialized agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta has a significant role in promoting regional integration.(2)The diversified agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta promotes regional integration,but the impact is not significant.In the process of regional integration,the role of diversified agglomeration in promoting regional integration needs to be brought into play.(3)On the basis of specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration,the spillover effect measured by borrowing scale between cities has significantly promoted the development of regional integration.(4)Specialized agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta has a non-linear impact on regional integration.With the improvement of the level of specialized agglomeration,the influence of specialized agglomeration on regional integration has changed from restraining to promoting.(5)Under different levels of economic development: the diversified agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta,with the improvement of the level of economic development,has first restrained and then promoted regional integration.(6)Under different levels of city scale: diversified agglomeration has the effect of restraining and then promoting regional integration with the expansion of city scale.Finally,corresponding countermeasures are proposed based on the results of empirical analysis.
