The sudden COVID-19 crisis in early 2020,due to the high intensity and large number of infections,it has been recognized as a "public health emergency of international concern" by the World Health Organization.Due to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, people’s normal pace of life had to turn to the special track of blocking the epidemic, and the production and operation activities of enterprises were greatly affected. In the context of the government’s national efforts to combat the epidemic,as an important subject of the market economy, the society expects enterprises to bear more social responsibilities to tide over the epidemic crisis. However, when reviewing the implementation of CSR in the epidemic situation,it will be found that in the face of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, some enterprises have shown corporate social irresponsibility. Why do some enterprises show corporate social irresponsibility? What are the influencing factors and mechanisms of corporate social irresponsibility in the COVID-19 crisis situations? The research on the harmfulness, manifestation and causes of corporate social irresponsibility has attracted much attention from scholars in the past. However, the relationship between COVID-19 crisis and corporate social irresponsibility has not been thoroughly explored. This article takes COVID-19 crisis as the background and is based on the Event System Theory and the Resource-based Theory and Corporate Social Responsibility theory, taking resource availability of enterprises as a mediating variable, and entrepreneurship as a moderating variable, studing the impact of COVID-19 crisis intensity on corporate social responsibility. This paper collected valid paired questionnaire103 enterprise data and 542 individual data through the implementation process of the survey and analyzed by SPSS,AMOS,HLM and other software. After data processing and analysis,it is found that: The strength of COVID-19 crisis events has a significant positive impact on corporate social irresponsibility; The strength of COVID-19 crisis events has a significant negative impact on resource availability;Resource availability has a significant negative impact on the corporate social irresponsibility;Resource availability efficacy partially mediated the relationship between the strength of COVID-19 crisis events and corporate social irresponsibility.Entrepreneurship negatively moderates the relationship between the strength of COVID-19 crisis events and corporate social irresponsibility.Based on the research findings, this article puts forward four management recommendations.First, enterprise managers need to have a correct understanding of COVID-19’s crisis events, allocate resources and focus on them and give priority to them, which is related to the survival and long-term development of enterprises.Second, enterprise managers need to attach great importance to corporate social responsibility, have a clear understanding of the social responsibility that enterprises should bear, and prevent and avoid corporate social irresponsibility, any excuse that COVID-19 fails to perform corporate social responsibility behavior may lead to serious ethical crisis.Third, enterprise managers need to improve their ability to quickly integrate resources,so as to alleviate the resource pressure of enterprises, and weaken the impact of major crisis events on enterprises, and then avoid the occurrence of enterprise unethical behavior.Fourth, enterprise managers, especially senior management decision-makers,need to pay attention to the cultivation of their own entrepreneurship in daily operation and management.Only in the face of emergencies can they make legal, compliant and responsible emergency response,so as to prevent and avoid corporate social irresponsibility decision-making.
