The continuous innovation and development of modern social service industry has given rise to a large number of labor-intensive and flexible job demands. The new employment mode and organizational management requirements have led to the fact that the simple traditional employment mode can no longer meet the market. The impact of the outbreak on various industries varies greatly, leading to "labor shortage" in some industries and "idleness" in others, accelerating the restructuring and change of labor practices worldwide and promoting the rise of the global gig economy. The practice of odd jobs in the tourism industry has a long history of importance to the industry, not only in reducing the operating costs of the tourism industry, but also in promoting sustainable development of the tourism industry. However, incompatible with the fast-growing gig economy, although most enterprises use the task performance of gig workers as the basis for evaluation,in practice, they do not pay enough attention to and effectively invest in the support mechanism for improving the task performance of gig workers. Moreover, the problems of "fetishism" and "deskilling" in the service industry under the gig economy also have a negative impact on both enterprises and gig workers. On the one hand, gig workers have to bear greater psychological pressure and social risks, and the low quality of employment leads them to face the possibility of breaking their career path at any time.On the other hand, the lack of long-term investment with both parties has led to frequent problems of unstable service quality to customers. In this context,it is worthwhile to conduct an in-depth discussion and research on how to improve the task performance of gig workers in tourism industry and ensure the work output and effect of gig workers,so that enterprises and gig workers can achieve a win-win situation.Based on this, this paper takes gig workers in the tourism industry as the object of empirical research, and investigates the factors influencing gig workers’ task performance and their paths of action through a mixed method that combines qualitative and quantitative research.Firstly, this study designed the interview outline based on the results of the previous literature research and coded the obtained interview texts according to the rooting theory, and the influence of organizational fit at the organizational level through organizational citizenship behavior, intraorganizational employee navigation, and self-efficacy on task performance at the individual employee level was initially derived through textual analysis, which provided the basis for the next step of constructing a structural equation model.Secondly,a structural equation model with organizational fit as the independent variable, intraorganizational employee navigation and organizational citizenship behavior as the mediating variables, task performance as the dependent variable, and self-efficacy as the moderating variable was constructed and empirically analyzed based on the data obtained from the questionnaire survey to ensure the scientific and rigorous nature of the study. The research shows that:(1)Organizational fit needs the help of intermediary variables, otherwise it will not have a direct and significant impact on the task performance of gig workers in tourism;(2)Organizational fit has a positive impact on the intraorganizational employee navigation and organizational citizenship behavior of gig workers in tourism;(3)The intraorganizational employee navigation and organizational citizenship behavior of casual workers play an intermediary role in the influence path of organizational fit on task performance;(4)Self-efficacy plays a significant positive moderating role in the process of organizational fit’s influence on the intraorganizational employee navigation of tourism gig workers, but it is not significant in the process of organizational fit’s influence on the organizational citizenship behavior of tourism gig workers.Under the trend of the rise of flexible employment platform economy and digital change, this paper is important for deepening the perception of factors influencing the task performance of gig workers in the tourism industry, improving the occupational vitality of this specific group, and promoting the healthy and stable development of the industry.
