| Advancing the improvement and transformation of China’s retail sector has become a key job in the current economic development due to the ongoing development of the retail industry,the emergence of various new retail formats,and the rivalry in the industry’s steady intensification.The emergence of new retail has broken the traditional production-oriented business model of the traditional retail industry,emphasizing customer consumption demand as the guide,using cloud computing,Internet,big data and other modern technologies to open up online and offline retail channels,reconstructing the relationship between "people,goods and field",and realizing the efficient operation of the entire industrial chain.The value chain,which consists of a variety of business-related topics and ancillary activities,can efficiently actualize product and service innovation,offer business operation efficiency,and produce value for businesses.As a result,this paper investigates the value creation path of new retail enterprises from the standpoint of the value chain and builds an evaluation system of enterprise value creation capability by combining the operational characteristics of new retail enterprises.This is essential for advancing the improvement and transformation of China’s retail industry.In order to provide sound theoretical backing for this paper,this paper first reviews the domestic and international literature on value chain and value creation.It then defines the terms "new retailing," "value chain," and "value creation" and elaborates on the theories that are closely related to each of these concepts.Second,we examine the traits that new retail businesses create,the suitability of value chain application in new retail business value creation,and the specific route of enterprise value creation from a value chain perspective.The evaluation method of new retail firms’ potential to create value is then built by merging their characteristics and allocating weights to indicators through hierarchical analysis,starting from the internal value chain and external value chain paths.Lastly,Enterprise A is given a thorough review using the aforementioned evaluation system.Comprehensive analysis is done on Enterprise A’s value creation capability score from 2019 to 2021,and specific recommendations are given.In this study,new retail firms are used as the research subject.Value chain theory and value creation theory are combined,and focused assessment indices for perspective innovation are created.In addition,a method for evaluating value creation in new retail firms is being built that is more thorough and reasonable,which partially addresses the shortcomings of the conventional value creation assessment index system based on financial evaluation.Finally,using company A as an example of application innovation,research and analysis into company A can help to increase the company’s potential to create value while also offering workable procedural principles for companies that are comparable to company A to follow.The ability of new retail enterprises to create value is found to be most strongly influenced by the level of informatization and the customer dimension in each link of the value chain.Enterprise A should therefore continue to strengthen their capacities in R&D innovation,human resource management,informatization level,customer management,and other areas. |
