Development Status And Countermeasures Of Millet Industry In Linzhou City

As one of the cereals grown in large areas in northern China and the largest multigrain crop planted in Linzhou,foxtail millet,rich in a variety of minerals and amino acids,has advantages of resistance of barren and drought,and of homology of medicine and food,enjoying strong market demand and a long planting history.This thesis,through field research,literature research,questionnaire survey,inductive analysis and other methods,investigates the foxtail millet planting,processing,management,sales and other procedures in Linzhou,clarifies the development of the foxtail millet industry,analyzes the current problems of the millet industry in Linzhou City,and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the benign development of the foxtail millet industry.Through the field investigation into the foxtail-millet-planting farmers,production and processing enterprises and other related subjects of the millet industry in Linzhou,the planting area of foxtail millet in Linzhou is known as more than 45,000 mu all year round,which is mainly distributed in the central,eastern and northern regions of the city.The strategy of pioneering development,combined with the SWOT analysis method,is recommended according to the study on the basic information of the production operators,the processing status of the industry,the business model,the sales method,and the quality certification status of the products.On the basis of the analysis on the development status,internal advantages and disadvantages,external opportunities and threats of foxtail millet industry in Linzhou,it’s found that the problems in the development of foxtail millet industry of Linzhou root in the aging of rural population and lack of various agricultural professionals,the short industrial chain and the shortage of core technology and the traditional sales model,the imperfection of product quality certification and low farmland standard.The following countermeasures,which are conducive to integrating resources in Linzhou to open up the development of foxtail millet industry,strengthen the comprehensive strength of the industry and make sound progress of the industry,are put forward to solve the above problems: first,pay more attention to the aging of the rural population and strengthen the training of agricultural professional talents;second,extend the industrial chain and improve the technology investment;third,expand new ways of thinking of sales and occupy the market;forth,actively participate in the quality certification of agricultural products and continue to build regional characteristic agricultural product brands;fifth,strengthen the construction of high-standard farmland and improve farmland infrastructure.
