As the General Secretary Xi Jinping has been said that national development and national rejuvenation need talents.The development and revitalization of the five-star hotel industry also need human resources.As the middle-level manager of the hotel,the assistant manager of the hotel not only plays the role of front-line customer service personnel,but also plays the role of supervision and management,and plays an important role in the process of hotel operation.The author has conducted a lot of sorting and in-depth mining on the research of competency model at home and abroad,and found that the construction and application of competency model has been very mature and complete,but the research on competency model for a specific post in the hotel industry is less.The author makes a supplement based on the blank part of the research in this field.As one of the important sectors of tourism,the hotel has made a great contribution to China’s economy,and the competence of the assistant manager who plays an important role in the operation of five-star hotels is particularly important,this is the core significance of the author’s research.The research of this paper is divided into five steps.The first step is to sort out and summarize the research summary of competency and competency model as well as the relevant concepts and theories mentioned in the research,and then lead to the concept of the competency model of the assistant manager of the five-star hotel lobby.The second step is to extract the competency elements and summarize them by Delphi method according to the competency research ideas,so as to identify and confirm the dimensions of the competency model of the assistant manager of the five-star hotel.The third step is to carry out a questionnaire survey to obtain empirical data information and use statistical software to process and analyze the data to achieve the purpose of verifying the competency model of the assistant manager of the five-star hotel.The fourth step is to design a questionnaire based on the established five-star hotel assistant manager competency model,and investigate the current situation of the five-star hotel assistant manager.At the same time,use the analysis software to analyze the questionnaire data to obtain the weak competency elements of the current five-star hotel assistant manager,and combine the current situation and development of the hotel to propose corresponding strategies and means.The fifth step is the final elaboration of the conclusions obtained,the shortcomings of the article,and the outlook.
