Balanced diet and nutrition is necessary condition to ensure the health of rural residents, and rural residents are the main body of rural revitalization. Therefore, the diet quality of rural residents in China will directly affect the smooth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. With the implementation of the digital village strategy and the growing maturity of Internet information technology, the deep embedding of Internet information technology in rural areas has had an important impact on farmers’ production and lifestyle.Internet consumption mode with the Internet as the carrier has gradually become popular among rural residents. The organic combination of "Internet plus diet and nutrition" has gradually become an important issue to promote the improvement of rural residents’ human capital in the new era.In the context of building a digital village and the “Healthy China 2030”,focusing on the relationship between the Internet and the dietary quality of rural residents, and paying attention to the food consumption and nutritional health of key populations in the key areas of rural residents, not only conforms to the deployment requirements of the "Fourteenth Five Year" National Health Plan, but also has important practical significance for steadily promoting the construction of“Healthy China 2030”.Based on the micro data obtained from the field survey of rural areas in Heilongjiang Province in 2022,this study first analyzed the relationship between the Internet, social capital and the dietary nutrition of rural residents from the theoretical level, then discussed the dietary structure of rural residents in Heilongjiang Province, and used the Chinese Dietary Balance Index to evaluate the dietary quality of residents in four rural areas in Heilongjiang Province,Based on the data of China Nutrition and Health Survey, the changing trend of nutrition intake of rural residents in Heilongjiang Province was analyzed. Finally, the OLS model and intermediary effect model were used to empirically test the relationship between the Internet, social capital and rural residents’ dietary nutrition status from the four nutritional indicators of dietary quality, food diversity, protein energy supply ratio and fat energy supply ratio. The research results indicate that firstly, there is an imbalance and irrationality in the dietary nutrition of rural residents in Heilongjiang Province. From the perspective of food intake among rural residents, there are coexisting issues of insufficient and excessive intake, mainly including excessive intake of grains, insufficient intake of milk, fruits, soybeans, nuts, and aquatic products, and there are situations of excessive and insufficient intake in various regions;According to the dietary balance index, there is a high degree of dietary imbalance among rural residents in the four regions of Heilongjiang Province, and the difference in dietary imbalance is not significant; From the perspective of the main nutrient intake of rural residents, currently only the carbohydrate energy supply ratio meets the recommended value, the protein energy supply ratio has not yet reached the recommended value, and the fat energy supply ratio is slightly higher than the recommended range.Secondly, internet use can effectively improve the dietary and nutritional status of rural residents in Heilongjiang. The use of the Internet can reduce the gap in dietary quality, narrow the gap between actual intake and the recommended intake in the Dietary Guidelines, and make dietary intake more reasonable. The use of the Internet can increase the diversity of food for rural residents and increase the types of food they consume. The use of the internet can reduce the fat to energy ratio and reduce the fat intake of rural residents. The use of the Internet can improve the protein energy supply ratio and increase the protein intake of rural residents.Third,Internet use can promote the dietary and nutritional status of rural residents through the mesomeric effect of social capital.Internet use can increase the accumulation of social capital of rural residents, and can affect the dietary and nutritional status of rural residents through the mesomeric effect of social capital.Based on the above analysis results, the following policy recommendations are proposed to improve the dietary and nutritional quality of rural residents: firstly,to strengthen the construction of network infrastructure in rural areas and improve the convenience of food consumption.Secondly, increase the income of rural residents and increase their confidence in food consumption.Thirdly, promote the construction of food markets in rural areas and improve the food consumption environment.Fourthly, strengthen the promotion of dietary nutrition knowledge in rural areas and cultivate the concept of balanced diet.
