| Over the past 40 years,China has made outstanding achievements in poverty alleviation.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,poverty alleviation has been included in the "Four Comprehensive" strategic layout.The Party Central Committee and the State Council have advanced with unprecedented strength and achieved great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention.Following the targeted poverty alleviation strategy,the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in 2017 to provide a guarantee for the continuous enhancement of the self-development capacity of poverty-stricken areas.The development of industrialization is the fundamental strategy for achieving poverty alleviation and an important foundation for rural revitalization.At the same time,as agricultural production moves towards intensification and marketization,food security situation has been significantly improved,but the nutrition situation in China is still relatively severe,especially in poor rural areas.Therefore,this research takes poverty as an entry point and takes deeply impoverished areas as an example.It focuses on the progress of poverty alleviation,industrial development and nutritional improvement,and explores the relationship among agricultural production,market development,nutrition and their internal impact mechanism,to improve the development path and policy measures of the agricultural industry chain,and provide decision-making support and basis for assisting industrial poverty alleviation,human capital improvement and comprehensive rural revitalization in deeply impoverished areas.The main research contents include:firstly,to evaluate and analyze the current situation of poverty alleviation in deeply impoverished areas;secondly,from the perspective of industrial chain,to study the current situation of industrial chain development in deeply impoverished areas,and grasp the problems and reasons existing in the current supply and demand system;Third,from a market perspective,using the local vegetable supply project as an entry point to study the impact of farmers’ participation in the food supply project on poverty and the mechanism of action;finally,integrating the three aspects of poverty,industry and market,studying the diversity of agricultural production,The relationship between market development and diet diversification and its internal influence mechanism.The main research conclusions are summarized as follows:firstly,in the analysis of the current situation of poverty alleviation in deeply impoverished areas,taking the three-year implementation plan as the basic criterion,and through data comparison,the results of the overall poverty reduction progress and effectiveness,the "two no worries and three guarantees"situation,the progress of key projects are got.The team also conducts annual follow-up monitoring analysis and three-year progress evaluation on the progress of poverty alleviation in the deeply impoverished areas in 2019.It is expected that the deeply impoverished areas in Sichuan Province will be able to complete the 2019 plan as scheduled in terms of poverty alleviation of the poverty-stricken population and withdrawal of poverty-stricken counties.The remaining impoverished counties,impoverished villages and impoverished population plan will be realized in 2020 as scheduled,withdraw their hats,withdraw from poverty,and get rid of poverty;no worries about food,no worries about clothing,and basic medical care and compulsory education in the three guarantees.Full realization and coverage,drinking water and housing security in the three guarantees are still in progress.Secondly,the research on the status and existing problems of the industrial chain development in deeply impoverished areas is mainly reflected in five aspects:Firstly,in terms of production conditions,special topography and climatic conditions provide a good ecological environment for agricultural products,but natural Poor conditions and water shortages have restricted the modernization of the industry and the symbiosis of resource endowments and resource shortages;secondly,in terms of advantageous products,characteristic agricultural products with unique qualities are far from being transformed into advantageous products;thirdly,in terms of the main agricultural production,retail farming and extensive management are the mainstays,and standardized farming cannot be promoted.Fourthly,in terms of market channels,the traditional trading mode of wholesale markets is the main mode.Under the traditional mode,small farmers are in a weak position in the market,and marketing channels are single,and e-commerce mode has not been popular yet.The new models are still in their infancy;fifthly,in terms of the length of the industrial chain,they are sold in the form of primary products,and the industrial chain is too short,and the added value of the products is low,which limits the space for profit distribution;The development of matching information technology,warehousing,cold chain logistics and other key infrastructure construction need to be supported.Thirdly,to study the impact and mechanism of farmers’ participation in food feeding projects in poverty-stricken areas,the study constructs a control group of farmers for the intervention group,and use baseline and final data to compare and analyze the key variables of the intervention group and the control group to obtain the impact of farmers participating in the project on poverty.At present,the project has completed the baseline survey,and it can be found that the two groups of samples have no significant differences in key variables and are balanced.In terms of planting,the main vegetable varieties are Chinese cabbage,white radish and pepper,with 63%in the sample only grow vegetables for one season.Most farmers also plant some rice and corn.The agricultural products produced are mainly for food,and a small part of them are sold through the market.In the breeding industry,farmers raise a small amount of livestock,the main varieties are chickens,pigs,ducks,etc.;the main source of income for the sample farmers is net transfer payment income.Fourthly,to study the relationship between agricultural production diversity and dietary diversification and transmission paths in poor areas,using three-year panel data from poor rural areas in China in 2012,2015 and 2018,to test the impact of agricultural production diversity and market development.It is found that the diversity of agricultural production significantly positively affects the degree of diversification of farmers’ diets.The development of agricultural production diversity can promote the diversification of farmers’ diets;the descriptive analysis results show that the food of the investigated farmers comes from market supply.Instead of self-production,the empirical results also verify that market development significantly positively affects the degree of dietary diversification of farmers.Therefore,the development of dietary diversification cannot rely solely on agricultural production.Market development is also a significant factor affecting dietary diversification;The impact of agricultural production on nutrition may show a non-linear trend under the degree of agricultural production.Using a threshold regression model,using the degree of agricultural commercialization as the threshold variable,by constructing a single threshold regression model,the diversity of agricultural production affects the threshold characteristics of dietary diversification.It is found that the diversity of agricultural production has a threshold effect on dietary diversification based on the degree of commercialization of agriculture.As the degree of commercialization of agriculture increases,the diversification of agricultural production has a gradually increasing role in promoting dietary diversification. |
