Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On The Efficiency Of Inclusive Green Growth

Since reform and opening up,our country’s economy has achieved leapfrog development,but extensive growth mode also caused environmental pollution and social livelihood problems are increasingly serious.Inclusive green growth provides an effective path for China to achieve high-quality development by pursuing sustainable development in a coordinated way between economy,society and environment.As an emerging force to leverage a new round of economic growth,digital economy is playing an important role in all aspects of economy and society.Exploring the impact and role of digital economy on inclusive green growth is of great practical significance for achieving high-quality development goals.This paper examines the impact and mechanism of digital economy on the efficiency of inclusive green growth at the provincial level in China through literature analysis,characteristic fact analysis and econometric analysis.First of all,based on the definition of digital economy and the efficiency of inclusive green growth and relevant theoretical elaboration,the influence relationship and transmission path of digital economy and the efficiency of inclusive green growth are analyzed theoretically and the research hypothesis is proposed.Secondly,the index system method and the input-output based SBM-DEA model were used to measure the digital economy development index and the efficiency of inclusive green growth,and the standard deviation ellipse,hotspot analysis and Kernel density estimation were used to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of digital economy and the efficiency of inclusive green growth in Chinese provinces.Finally,the panel data of 30 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China from 2011 to 2020 were used to construct static panel models,mediating effect models and moderating effect models to test the impact and mechanism of digital economy on the efficiency of inclusive green growth in China.The results show that:(1)From the perspective of spatio-temporal evolution characteristics,during the sample period,the overall regional development pattern of the digital economy in the province was“strong in the east and catching up in the central and western regions”,the spatial distribution showed a trend of “northeast-southwest”and a trend of “expansion—contract—re-expansion”.The efficiency of inclusive green growth at provincial level presents obvious disequilibrium characteristics and agglomeration trend in space,which is mainly manifested as: the spatio-temporal pattern of efficiency gradually evolving from equilibrium state to disequilibrium state;the cold spot and sub-cold spot agglomeration area shrink to the north,the sub-hot spot agglomeration area shows a patchy expansion trend,and the hot spot agglomeration area gradually stabilizes to the spatial agglomeration characteristic of the eastern coastal area.On the dynamic evolution of distribution,both provincial digital economy and inclusive green growth efficiency showed an increasing trend.The regional differences of digital economy gradually narrowed,while the regional differences of inclusive green growth efficiency gradually expanded.(2)The empirical test results show that digital economy can effectively promote the efficiency of inclusive green growth,and presents heterogeneity under the influence of geographical location,economic development level and human capital level.From different regions,the promotion effect of digital economy development on the efficiency of inclusive green growth is as follows: eastern region > western region,while the effect on inclusive green growth efficiency of central region is not significant.From the perspective of economic development level,the promotion effect of digital economy development on the efficiency of inclusive green growth efficiency is as follows:developed areas > less developed areas,while the effect on inclusive green growth efficiency of more developed areas is not significant.From the perspective of human capital level,digital economy can promote the efficiency of inclusive green growth only in areas with high human capital level,but not in areas with low human capital level.(3)The mechanism test results show that the promotion effect of digital economy on the efficiency of inclusive green growth includes two impact paths: human capital accumulation and industrial structure upgrading,which respectively exert a positive impact on the improvement of inclusive green growth efficiency through learning effect and labor substitution effect,digital industrialization and industrial digitalization.In the process of the digital economy affecting the efficiency of inclusive green growth,the level of technological innovation and the adjustment of energy structure have a significant positive moderating effect,which can strengthen the promoting effect of digital economy on the efficiency of inclusive green growth.Based on this,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: to construct the innovative development idea of digital economy “east leads-central transformation-west improves”;Break regional boundaries and promote the efficiency of inclusive green growth and coordinated development;making development policies according to the differences of regional economic development level and human capital level;unblock pathways for the digital economy to influence the efficiency of inclusive green growth.
