Study On The Impact Of Government Health Expenditure On Economic Growth

As an important force to improve people’s health,government health expenditure is of great significance in maintaining social stability,resolving conflicts at the grassroots level and achieving economic growth.Since the COVID-19 epidemic,the downward pressure on the economy has increased,and the government’s health expenditure is urgent.How to effectively use funds to ensure the health of residents while adding strength to economic development on the premise of meeting the necessary government health expenditure has become a practical problem to be solved at present.Therefore,in order to explore the impact of government health expenditure on economic growth and its mechanism,this paper studies it from the theoretical,current and empirical levels.First of all,theoretical analysis,on the basis of the definition of related concepts,sort out the relevant theoretical basis;Starting from the influencing factors of economic growth,this paper analyzes the mechanism of government health expenditure affecting economic growth,and puts forward the channel mechanism.It believes that health human capital,labor productivity,household consumption and investment are the important factors affecting the relationship between them.Secondly,in the aspect of current situation analysis,descriptive statistical method is used to analyze the current situation of government health expenditure and economic growth,and analyze the typical facts of the impact of fiscal health expenditure on economic growth.Thirdly,in terms of empirical analysis,the theoretical hypothesis of this paper is tested by taking Chinese provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020 as the research object.The details are as follows:(1)The bidirectional fixed-effect model test found that government health expenditure promoted economic growth,and the robustness test also significantly supported this result.(2)Government health expenditure has a differential impact on economic growth,and has a stronger promotion effect on the central region,the region with low marketization index and low financial transparency.(3)Through the channel test,it is found that government health expenditure can effectively promote economic growth by improving health human capital,labor productivity and household consumption and investment.Finally,based on the conclusions of this paper,reasonable policy suggestions are put forward to improve the current situation of government health expenditure and promote economic growth."National health is the source of economic development".Reasonable government health expenditure is an important embodiment of improving the comprehensive quality of the people and ensuring the health of the people,and is an important engine for economic development.Through the study of the relationship between government health expenditure and economic growth,guiding the government to pay attention to the current situation of government health expenditure and its impact on the economy is not only of practical significance for the promotion and implementation of various hard tasks at present,but also conducive to seeking a new Angle of economic development,breaking through the obstacles of economic development and expanding the economy.
