As China’s economic development has entered the new normal, the industries in Qingdao are facing a series of pressure of transformation and upgrading such as rising labor costs.Qingdao,a traditional industrial hub in China,is emblematic of the eastern Chinese industrial revolution in its modernization and metamorphosis. The economic growth of cities like Zhengzhou and Chongqing has been notably accelerated in recent years due to the enhancement of transportation infrastructure and the growth of logistics.Through the construction of comprehensive transport hubs,a large number of cities have changed their geographical disadvantages and become the forefront of China’s opening up through a series of transport measures such as the China-Europe railway Express.Remarkable achievements have been made.Qingdao’s development is thus prioritized by the logistics industry. The Qingdao Municipal administration placed a great deal of emphasis on it and issued a succession of policy documents. The Qingdao Logistics Industry’s Development is being addressed through the Medium and Long-Term Plan’s Action Plan,as seen in the Notice on its implementation. The development of Qingdao’s logistics industry is greatly advanced by the construction of the Qingdao International Inland Port.Qingdao International inland Port’s development has a demonstrative importance for the transformation strategies of both traditional and modern forces in eastern China, and it has enabled the industrial upgrading and transformation of Qingdao city. This paper firstly reviews the research status of international inland ports at home and abroad, explains the relevant theories of international inland ports and competitiveness of international dry ports, and introduces the main evaluation methods used in this paper through comparative analysis. Then the development status of Qingdao international inland port is analyzed systematically. Then the SWOT matrix analysis method is used to sort out the development of Qingdao international inland port. The key part is to construct the evaluation model of international inland port competitiveness, and to evaluate and analyze Qingdao international inland port.Obtain key indicators for evaluating the competitiveness of international inland ports through field research, full study of existing literature and issuing questionnaires.Composed of six initial and 18 subsequent indicators, the evaluation indicators encompass the development of the internal infrastructure of the international inland port,as well as the management of the same. The international inland port’s main operating platform, the hinterland’s economic growth, the transportation infrastructure and its development potential-these are all factors to consider. The corresponding weights of each factor are calculated by the combination weighting method.Then,grey-TOPSIS method was used to obtain the scores of each land port.Through empirical analysis,it is concluded that the competitiveness of Qingdao international inland port is still insufficient compared with that of Chengdu,Zhengzhou and other developed land ports. The SWOT analysis and evaluation results lead to the conclusion that Qingdao International Continental Port has certain issues, such as a lack of performance and a deficient main operating platform. The infrastructure of logistics must be enhanced, and the caliber of talents is inadequate.Countermeasures to better logistics infrastructure, bridge the gap between sea and land ports, nurture pillar industries, and foster international inland port wisdom are proposed in light of these issues.Drawing in and cultivating talents, and augmenting the service quality of international inland ports.
