With the acceleration of global economic integration, inland cities have been deeply aware of the fundamental and leading role of logistics industry in regional economy. They have proposed plans to build logistics hub cities and tried to integrate the advantages of both internal and external resources to develop into regional economic centers. However, how to reverse the inland city’s inherent disadvantage, make it possess the resource talent of the port, and give play to the effect of logistics hub depression, are urgent research topic at present. Many inland cities in China now have the conditions of inland logistics hub cities, but relative theoretical research lags far behind the development of inland logistics hub cities, that is,practice is ahead of theory. Therefore, strengthening the theoretical research of inland logistics hub cities and constructing the theoretical model of the competitiveness of inland logistics hub cities are of great significance to grasp the level of competitiveness of inland logistics hub cities, promote the common development of inland areas and coastal port cities, and ensure the pertinence of policy formulation and planning.Based on the above background, this paper establishes a theoretical model of "four elements" of inland logistics hub city competitiveness from the perspective of logistics hub and conducts empirical analysis by studying the current situation and relevant theories of logistics hub cities and city competitiveness at home and abroad.Firstly,by sorting out the theoretical basis of logistics hub and urban competitiveness, combining with the development experience of logistics hub cities at home and abroad, this paper summarizes the constituent elements of logistics hub cities, and applies them into inland areas to analyze the constituent elements, connotations and characteristics of inland logistics hub cities.Secondly, based on the characteristics of inland logistics hub cities, this paper analyses the influencing factors of the competitiveness of inland logistics hub cities, and constructs a "four-degree" theoretical model of the competitiveness of inland logistics hub cities. That is,the degree of city scale, network connectivity, the degree of network circulation and the degree of market development.Thirdly,on the basis of the "four-degree" theoretical model and according to the principle of constructing the index system, nine targeted and available evaluation indicators reflecting the competitiveness of cities by the function of logistics hub are selected, andthe method of multiple linear regression between the proposed indicators and the original urban competitiveness indicators is carried out to verify the rationality of the proposed index system. Finally, based on the Entropy Weight-TOPSIS model, the competitiveness of 12 inland logistics hub cities in China is measured, and the results are compared with the competitiveness rankings of Chinese cities. The rationality of the theoretical model and index system is verified, and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are given according to the ranking results.
