With the continuous development of economy,the traditional financial industry is also undergoing earth shaking changes.As high net worth customers put forward higher and higher requirements for financial and non-financial services,the personal quality and competitiveness of financial service personnel are particularly critical.In today’s increasingly homogeneous financial services,the top priority for major financial institutions to compete for customers is talent.As the "crown" business of commercial banks,private banks need a large number of high-quality wealth consultants to provide high-quality services for high net worth customers.In this context,how to identify,explore and cultivate the competence of wealth advisers in commercial banks has become a top priority.Firstly,this paper reviews the development process of "competency" related theories,including foreign research status,domestic research status and research review at home and abroad.This paper explores the development track of victory theory,and summarizes the relevant definitions and research methods of competence.Then it analyzes the problems existing in the current wealth consultant of a commercial bank,focusing on three key problems existing in the current wealth consultant management of a bank:the selection of wealth consultants,the training of wealth consultants and the assessment of wealth consultants.Then,on the basis of literature research and theoretical research,combined with practice,this paper selects the private bank wealth consultant of a commercial bank as the research object.Conduct in-depth interviews with the managers of the wealth consulting team of a commercial bank and the representatives of excellent wealth consultants,summarize the competency characteristics of wealth consultants,and design and make a survey questionnaire.After the preparation,the questionnaire will be sent to the on-the-job wealth consultant of a commercial bank.After collecting the questionnaire data,using the data analysis tool,using the "exploratory factor analysis" method to test the"reliability" and "validity" of the data,and finally summarizes the competency model of private bank wealth advisers of commercial banks,including the characteristics of"external ability" and "internal quality".The "external ability" level includes eight abilities:retail business professional ability,bank comprehensive business ability,market research and analysis ability,knowledge desire learning ability,internal and external communication and coordination ability,crisis event handling ability,compliance risk control ability,information collection and integration ability,and the"internal spirit" level includes:sense of responsibility,initiative,integrity and kindness Patience,perseverance,team spirit,loyalty,empathy and dedication.Finally,combined with the competency model of private bank wealth consultant of commercial banks,this paper provides suggestions for the application of private bank wealth consultant of commercial banks.This study complements and perfects the competency theory of front-line marketers.The innovation is to summarize the competency characteristics of the competency model into external and internal aspects,and provide a reference basis for the selection,training and assessment of wealth consultants of commercial banks and private banks in the future.
