| With the booming economy and information technology,bank asset management business has played an increasingly important role in the financial system.However,in recent years,the market environment of the bank asset management industry has undergone major changes.The increasingly fierce competition in the large asset management industry has turned the previous leveraged,channeled and multi-layered nested asset management business model upside down,and the strong style of regulation has put pressure on the asset management industry one after another,resulting in the development of the asset management industry facing a transformation,but also breeding a turnaround.Based on the above background,this paper conducts a thematic study on the competitive strategies that G Bank should choose in the development of its custody business by applying a research method that combines theory and practice,and by combining the actual situation of G Bank’s custody business with various strategic management analysis methods.Firstly,through the use of tools such as PEST analysis and Porter’s five forces model,the external environment of G Bank’s asset management business is analysed in depth and the opportunities and threats that may be encountered in its future development are summarised.The SWOT analysis matrix of Bank G’s asset management business is used to determine the strategic position of the company;then the feasibility of three competitive strategies is studied in depth,and the QSPM matrix is combined to select the most suitable competitive strategy for the development of Bank G’s asset management business,i.e.the differentiated competitive strategy.The analysis in this paper shows that G Bank’s asset management business has certain competitive advantages,but still needs to face various challenges posed by the industry.It is necessary to develop differentiation strategies in several aspects,such as product design,investment and research capabilities,marketing system and customer service,as well as to put in sufficient efforts in corporate culture,risk management,human resources and information technology to ensure the implementation of differentiation strategies.Through a series of analysis and research,this paper hopes to find strategies and methods to enhance the core competitiveness of G Bank’s asset management business under the new regulations,with a view to suggesting ways for G Bank to improve its market competitiveness.On the other hand,it is also hoped that the findings of the study will provide some reference value for the asset management business of banking financial institutions,and that these findings will also have some practical significance for the strategic management of asset management business of city commercial banks. |
