In recent years,many changes have taken place in the international environment.There are more and more uncertain factors in the economic environment.The world is experiencing the impact of adverse factors such as inflation and the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.China’s manufacturing industry must deal with the pressure and risks brought by these effects.The rising prices of raw materials.rising labor costs,weak consumer markets,rising costs of overseas transportation,and various negative factors have made the manufacturing industry face great challenges.At the same time.many manufacturing enterprises have many problems themselves,such as unreasonable work arrangements,imperfect standards,and unqualified product quality.In order to overcome the pressure of the external environment and the problems in their own management,many manufacturing enterprises have begun to optimize their internal operation and management methods,learning excellent external management models.thereby improving production efficiency and reducing costs,increasing their competitiveness,and better responding to the complex external environment.Lean production has been proven in practice to help enterprises achieve high-quality and efficient manufacturing,and is widely favored among production enterprises.Many enterprises choose to use lean production to improve their management model,thereby further improving production processes and reshaping their corporate image.Company Z mainly engaged in the research,development and production of steel cord for automotive tires..In recent years,more and more enterprises have joined the steel cord industry,with increasing competitive pressure.The company’s profit margin continues to decrease,and raw material costs and labor costs continue to rise.Cost control has become the most important issue for the company.Therefore,the management model of lean production has become a preferred solution for the company to improve.This paper mainly takes the operation of Company Z’s wet wire drawing workshop as the research object,uses the theory and method of lean production to research it,puts forward improvement plans for the problems existing in the production process,and implements and evaluates them,so as to lay a foundation for the continued implementation of lean production in the whole company.First of all this paper has sorted out the relevant theories of lean production.Through field visits and interviews with key management personnel,it has learned about the actual operation status and actual problems faced by the wet drawing workshop of Company Z:insufficient stable supply capacity,low equipment comprehensive efficiency becoming bottleneck processes,and unstable product quality.According to the existing problems,detailed on-site investigation and cause analysis were conducted,and corresponding improvement plans were developed using lean production theories and tools.Combining the characteristics of the wet wire drawing workshop itself,the implementation of plans such as optimizing the layout of the production line,improving the overall efficiency of equipment,rapid mold change optimization,establishing standardization,and applying advanced quality tools greatly improved the efficiency of the production site,achieving the expected improvement goals.After practice and effect evaluation,the lean production improvement of wet wire drawing workshop is successful,which lays a solid foundation for Company Z to further promote the lean production model to other production workshops of the company.
