Research On The Impact Of Industrial Structure On The Income Gap Of Urban Residents

Achieving common prosperity for all people is the essential requirement of Chinese path to modernization.On the one hand,the industrial structure will play an important role in promoting economic growth,on the other hand,it will have a direct impact on the local employment structure and the income structure of residents.The industrial structure consistent with the characteristics of local endowment is an important starting point for balancing equity and efficiency,economic growth and income equity.The research on the impact of industrial structure on income gap has important practical significance and policy value.This paper establishes a theoretical model of the impact of industrial structure on the income gap of urban residents.Based on the provincial panel data of the Gini coefficient of urban residents in China from 1984 to 2020,it constructs a dynamic panel data model and uses the correction LSDV estimation method to empirically analyze the impact of industrial structure indicators such as rationalization of industrial structure and service of industrial structure on the level of income gap of urban residents.This paper finds that the industrial structure has a significant impact on the income gap of urban residents.In line with the theoretical inference of the mathematical model,the rationalization of industrial structure has a certain inhibiting effect on the income gap of urban residents.In addition,from the perspective of the whole country,the increase of the proportion of the output of the secondary industry has a certain inhibiting effect on the income gap of urban residents,and the serviceability of the industrial structure and the increase of the proportion of the output of the tertiary industry have a certain strengthening effect on the income gap of urban residents;The impact of various indicators of industrial structure on the income gap of urban residents in the eastern,central and western regions is basically consistent with the national level,but there are differences in significance.Based on the above research conclusions,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations to alleviate the income gap of residents:first,we should build an economic evaluation system that is compatible with the new development concept,and promote the region to pay more attention to the income gap.Second,we should follow the theory of comparative advantage to formulate industrial policies,and fully develop local resources with comparative advantages according to the characteristics of regional internal resource endowment.Third,we should improve the initial distribution system,achieve the unity of fairness and efficiency in the initial distribution,take the redistribution system as an important supplement to the initial distribution system,and strictly implement social security benefits.
