The traditional automobile industry is highly dependent on the petroleum resources,but the substitutability of fuel is low,and the environmental conditions are deteriorating due to the emission of automobile exhaust.Therefore,new energy vehicles have become the backbone of the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry with their unique advantages.As an important power source of new energy vehicles,power battery has become the key to industrial competition.At present,In the global power battery enterprises,the status of Chinese enterprises is more prominent.China’s power battery enterprises have a strong momentum of development and broad prospects.Ho wever,in the process of its vigorous development,there are problems such as lack of core technology,research and development activities stagnant,input-output discrepancy and so on.In addition,the global outbreak of COVID-19 and economic turmoil in 2020 reduced the consumer demand for automobiles,seriously affecting the production and sales of products in all links of the power battery industry’s value chain.The decrease in demand and the delay in research and development lead to the decline of financial value-added efficiency of power battery enterprises,which needs high attention and consideration.Financial valueadded efficiency is a comprehensive index to evaluate the development status and potential of enterprises,which is mainly used to measure the utilization degree of enterprise resources.This paper mainly evaluates and analyzes the financial value-added efficiency of listed companies in the power battery industry,and expounds the specific situation and differences of listed companies in each link combined with the industrial value chain.Based on the analysis of research trends at home and abroad,firstly,the paper defines the value chain of power battery industry and listed companies,and expounds the development background and status quo of power battery industry through PEST macro analysis and enterprise micro analysis.Secondly,29 listed power battery companies and 15 factors affecting the financial value-added efficiency of enterprises are analyzed and selected.Principal component analysis is used to extract the principal components.Thirdly,the paper uses the extracted principal components to construct the evaluation index system of financial value-added efficiency of power battery industry,and uses data envelopment analysis method to describe the changes of financial value-added efficiency of listed companies in the power battery industry and each link of the value chain from both static and dynamic aspects.Finally,based on the results of the evaluation index system of financial value-added efficiency,R language is introduced for hierarchical clustering,Kmeans clustering method is used to verify the hierarchical clustering results,and relevant suggestions are put forward accordingly.The research shows that the financial value-added efficiency of listed companies in China’s power battery industry increased first and then decreased from 2018 to 2020,and the industrial value chain presents a V-shaped distribution trend.The main reason for this situation is the insufficiency of technical research and development ability and management ability.Enterprises can increase investment in research and development,actively promote product upgrading and rationally control production scale to improve financial value-added efficiency and achieve sustainable and stable development.Financial value-added efficiency is the key for listed companies in power battery industry to achieve sustainable and stable development.In this paper,the evaluation index system of financial value-added efficiency is constructed,and the development status of listed power battery companies is comprehensively analyzed in combination with the industrial value chain.Then,clustering is carried out based on this,providing beneficial ideas for further improvement of listed power battery companies.
