Agriculture is so critical department of national economy that its improvement of production efficiency has become an important goal of agricultural development.Analysis of factors affecting agricultural production efficiency and evaluation of agricultural production efficiency are an important part of agricultural management.This paper aims at the selection of indicators,estimation of the dynamic change of production efficiency and characterization of the regional change characteristics of agricultural production efficiency evaluation in Chongqing.Based on the theory of production and the integrated methods of factor analysis,data envelopment analysis and Malmquist index,this paper uses the relevant statistical data of agricultural production to analyze the change of agricultural production efficiency in Chongqing City during the 2001-2015.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The index system of agricultural production efficiency evaluation is composed of general index system and candidate index system and selected index system.The selected index system is composed of labor force for agriculture,forestry,animal husbandry and fishery sector,sown area,fertilizer utility,rural electricity consumption,total crop output,total output value of agriculture,urbanization rate,rural gross national product per capita,net income of rural residents per capita and education level of farmer.The PCA-based indicator selection(principal component analysis)can construct a set of indicators for agricultural production efficiency.The method can both measure the correlation between input variable and output variable and avoid to select wrong variables as a sources of more deviated estimation of efficiency effectively.(2)six of the higher agricultural production efficiency areas in the districts and counties in Chongqing in 2001 and 2015 were not considered under the influence of environmental factors on agricultural production.After eliminating the interference of environmental variables,there are 10 high-efficiency areas with a production efficiency of 1,which Indicate that the interference of environmental variables has a great influence on the calculation of agricultural production efficiency.This suggests that the consequences of excluding environmental variables are more instructive,and agricultural production must take environmental factors such as nature and society as important exogenous variables.(3)Based on the spatial and temporal clustering analysis of agricultural production efficiency in Chongqin during 2001-2015,it is found that the score of agricultural production efficiency in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period is 0.947,which is the highest is in the whole period while the score of production efficiency in Tenth Five-Year Plan period is 0.879,which is listed the lowest;The score of production efficiency in Twelfth Five-Year Plan period is 0.914,which is ranked in the middle.The pure technical efficiency value tends to decline,and the technical efficiency and scale efficiency increase first and then decrease.From the perspective of of agricultural production efficiency spatial distribution,the number of higher efficiency areas after DEA three stages of adjustment significantly increased,and mainly concentrated around the main city.It proves that economically developed areas of agricultural production have a greater role in radiation.Environmental factors are an important condition for agricultural production,the government should increase the process of urbanization and the core city area should promote the development of surrounding agricultural areas.(4)The Malmquist index was used to decompose the agricultural production efficiency of each district in Chongqing from 2001 to 2015,and the average Malmquist index was 1.057 in 2001-2015,among which,the technological progress(TECH)"growth effect" index was 1.048,technical efficiency(EFFCH)"catch-up effect" was 0.996,the decomposition of average malmquist index according to county scale indicated that Malmquist index was 1.070,among which,the technological progress(TECH)"growth effect" index was 1.072 and the technical efficiency(EFFCH)"catch-up effect" was 0.995.It is obvious that technological progress is the most important factor affecting the agricultural production efficiency in Chongqing urban area.Therefore,the government should emphasize the progress of technological progress and agricultural modernization when planning the agricultural reform in Chongqing.Chongqing should gradually transform from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture,increase agricultural investment,especially to increase support for agricultural technological progressespecially to increase the support of agricultural technological progress.The innovative theory and model of this paper can be extended to the dynamic efficiency change and decomposition evaluation of other economic sectors,and the evaluation conclusion of agricultural efficiency in Chongqing is also enlightening to improve the efficiency of agricultural production in other regions.
