Research On The Impact Of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) In Producer Services On The Upgrading Of China’s Manufacturing Structure

Based on the gradual development of economic globalization,transnational capital flows are becoming more and more frequent.Foreign direct investment plays an important role in global economic development.In the "made in China 2025" strategy,attention has been paid to the role of foreign direct investment in the development of manufacturing industry,and producer services have become an important driving force for the upgrading of manufacturing structure.Therefore,based on this,it is of great significance to explore the impact of foreign direct investment(FDI)in producer services on the upgrading of China’s manufacturing structure.Based on the panel data of 14 provinces(cities)in China from 2005 to 2018,this paper establishes static and dynamic panel data models to test the impact of producer services FDI on the upgrading of manufacturing structure;Establish an intermediary effect model to test the mechanism of producer service FDI on the upgrading of manufacturing structure;The upgrading of manufacturing structure is divided into three parts: rationalization,efficiency and upgrading of manufacturing structure.The results show that the rationalization/efficiency/upgrading of manufacturing structure,FDI in producer services,urban development level and technological innovation level in the lagging phase have a significant role in promoting the rationalization/efficiency/upgrading of this phase.In addition,in the demonstration of rationalization and efficiency of manufacturing structure,the regression result of dynamic model is better than that of static model;In the demonstration of advanced manufacturing structure,the regression result of static model is better than that of dynamic model.Producer services FDI mainly affects the rationalization of manufacturing structure through the number of R&D personnel in high-tech industry(htrd),and htrd can explain 91% of the impact of producer services FDI on rationalization.Producer services FDI mainly affects the efficiency and upgrading of manufacturing structure through mfdi,and mfdi can explain 32.4% and 18.3% of the impact of producer services FDI on efficiency and upgrading respectively.Finally,it proposes to introduce high-quality foreign capital and develop high-tech manufacturing industry;Improve the ability of independent R&D and innovation;Suggestions on establishing a reasonable and effective talent flow mechanism.
