| In the past four decades,my country’s rapid economic growth and urbanization have led to a sharp increase in carbon dioxide emissions,and the Chinese government is facing enormous pressure to reduce carbon emissions.At present,the formulation of national carbon emission reduction policies is mainly concentrated at the regional level,and the flow of carbon emissions implied by inter-regional trade may cause carbon leakage,making it difficult to achieve national carbon emission reduction goals.An in-depth discussion of the flow of carbon emissions implied by inter-regional trade will help my country achieve carbon emissions reduction goals.With the rapid development of domestic regional integration and the deepening of domestic division of labor,trade in intermediate goods has become the main way of inter-regional trade.The repeated crossing of borders by intermediate products makes it more difficult to calculate the embodied carbon emissions in trade.The development and improvement of value-added trade and value chain theories provide new methods and perspectives for the study of embodied carbon emissions in trade.Based on this,this paper uses my country’s multi-regional inputoutput data from 2007 to 2017 to analyze my country’s eight inter-regional trade embodied carbon emissions and their flow characteristics from the perspective of the value chain.The research results show that:(1)From 2007 to 2017,my country’s inter-regional trade embodied carbon emissions first increased and then decreased.From 2007 to 2015,the total embodied carbon emissions in each region continued to increase,from 3132.6Mt to 5863.7Mt.Mt,from 2015 to 2017,the total embodied carbon emissions from trade decreased,from5863.7Mt to 5607.5Mt.The overall flow of carbon emissions embodied in trade is mainly from the less developed regions in the western region to the developing coastal regions in the southeast and the middle east.Among them,the northwest region is the region with the largest net outflow of carbon emissions embodied in trade,with a net outflow of 699.9Mt in 2017;the southern coast is the region with the largest net inflow of carbon emissions embodied in trade,with a net inflow of 412.6Mt in 2017.(2)The embodied carbon emissions of inter-regional trade in my country are mainly driven by the trade of intermediate products,and the embodied carbon emissions caused by the trade of intermediate products are more than 2.5 times of the embodied carbon emissions caused by the trade of final products.(3)The embodied carbon emissions of trade in the central and western regions are concentrated in the production and supply industries of electricity and heat,metal smelting and rolling processing industries,and energy industries,while the economically developed eastern,southern coastal and BeijingTianjin regions are in the service industry and processing industries.Manufacturing has a comparative advantage.(4)In the flow path of trade-embedded carbon emissions,the path related to the simple domestic value chain value chain has always dominated,followed by traditional trade,and the share of the complex domestic value chain and global value chain path is relatively small.For example,in 2017,the flows of trade-embedded carbon emissions in simple value chains,traditional trade,complex domestic value chains and global value chains were 2296.4Mt,1477.7Mt,1060.1Mt and 773.3Mt,respectively.(5)From the perspective of the three main parts of the decomposition of trade-implied carbon emissions,the proportion of carbon emissions(DCA)from this region is always larger,and the proportion of developed regions is relatively small compared to less developed regions(DCA),from the perspective of the time change trend,the DCA overall showed a downward trend;on the contrary,the carbon emissions from outside the region(FCA)and the return flow(RDA)accounted for a small proportion,but there was a clear upward trend.Reasonably plan the industrial structure layout between regions,and pay attention to the coordinated development of regions.Realize the balanced development of inter-regional economic development and environmental protection,and improve the current situation of high pollution and low efficiency in the central region,northern coastal and northwestern regions.As well as promoting the development of green industries and building a domestic green value chain.Only by rationally guiding the upgrading of the industrial structure and promoting the development of low-carbon industries and hightech industries can my country achieve the dual-carbon goal as soon as possible. |
