In recent years,due to a variety of factors such as changes in the domestic and international market economic environment,the home appliance industry is facing serious challenges.In the face of this situation,enterprises should make changes to their business philosophy and increase their efforts to innovate technology,while also optimising their product structure to meet the competitive market requirements.Corporate performance management is an important way to improve the internal management of a company,which can promote better development in the future.Strategy is the concrete expression of a company’s development goals and plays a very important role in realising its value.The planning and development of an enterprise is based on strategy,which is supported through the management platform of the enterprise.How to build a scientific and reasonable performance management system to coordinate the strategic objectives of the enterprise with the business objectives,is an important issue that is urgently addressed by the current enterprise managers.The aim of the thesis is to design a comprehensive performance management system for SLD Home Appliance Company to suit its strategic objectives and help the company achieve its strategic transformation.The company was seeking a new business before 2020,and decided to make a strategic shift in the direction of its business in order to turn a profit by transforming from the home appliance industry,which manufactures and sells traditional small appliances,to a small spot trader with a focus on the production and sale of complete electrical equipment for power transmission and distribution and a steel trading business.Therefore,the company should adapt and plan for its actual performance management situation and the strategic objective.Firstly,the thesis analyses the current situation of performance management at SLD Home Appliance Company from a strategic point of view,including the determination of performance programmes,performance monitoring,performance appraisal,and feedback and communication of performance appraisal results,respectively.Secondly,this thesis analyses and understands the problems of the company’s performance management from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives.The questionnaire survey and the study of the current situation of the company’s performance management reveal that the company suffers from inadequate integration of the determination of performance programmes with strategic objectives,the absence of a performance monitoring process,the lack of a systematic performance appraisal process,the lack of timely performance feedback and the lack of a communication mechanism.The company’s lack of linkage between the definition of performance programmes and its strategic objectives has made it difficult for the company to transition its product strategy.The thesis then analyses the causes of the problems,including the lack of awareness and motivation of the company’s strategy-oriented performance management,the failure to integrate the performance management system with its own situation and the need to improve the operational mechanism for the strategy-oriented performance management system.The performance management system of SLD Home Appliance Company is then designed using the balanced scorecard.Taking the company’s sales staff as an example,the KPI indicators at the employee level are analysed and the indicator weights are calculated using hierarchical analysis to determine the implementation and application of the KPI performance appraisal system.Finally,safeguards are proposed for the performance management system of SLD Home Appliance Company,namely building an environment that matches the KPI performance appraisal system,mobilising and training before implementing the performance management system,strengthening the monitoring of performance management implementation,increasing technology research and development and talent introduction,establishing a sound performance feedback mechanism,establishing an effective incentive mechanism and punishment mechanism,and finally draw conclusions and prospects.
