From its birth to modern society,insurance has always been an important means of social risk management and an important part of the economic security system.As one of the three pillars of the national financial system,it has an incredibly important role in promoting the stable development of the social economy,ensuring people’s well-being and social stability,and is the "stabilizer" of national economic development.In the past 30 years,the insurance industry in China has developed rapidly,and in 2016,China’s original premium income has surpassed Japan and ranked second in the world,which is credited to the insurance agent team under the agency system model.However,as the market environment changes and the competition in the insurance industry intensifies,the problems of the insurance agent team behind the rapid growth of the extensive management model represented by the "huge-crowd strategy" are gradually revealed,which brings hidden dangers to the sustainable development of the industry.Therefore,this paper selects M Life Jiangxi Branch.This paper studies the agent management of the M Life Jiangxi branch through literature analysis,case analysis,and questionnaire.Firstly,we found the theoretical basis by reviewing the relevant literature on agency management in China and abroad.Secondly,we retrieved the relevant data from the M Life management system to understand the development status of the team,and designed a questionnaire to conduct a questionnaire survey,then collected and analyzed those questionnaires.It is concluded that the agent management status of the M Life Jiangxi branch presents four problems: low retention rate of agents,especially newcomers,low training efficiency,poor assessment and incentive effect,and low salary.Then,we get three enlightenments by learning from Japan and the U.S.agent management model: Firstly,implementing the transformation of agent "contract system" mode.Secondly,setting the access threshold for agents,and thirdly,improving the overall level of agent salary and welfare.In the end,this paper puts forward suggestions for the optimization of agent management: Firstly,standardize the "selection,cultivation and retention" of agents.Secondly,optimize the agent training system.Thirdly,establish a long-term incentive and restraint mechanism for agents.Fourthly,optimize the agent compensation and welfare management scheme.
