Xin’anjiang river basin ecological compensation is the first cross provincial horizontal ecological compensation pilot in China. In order to protect the basin environment, the production and life of farmers in the compensation pilot area have been constrained to some extent, which has affected their livelihoods. Therefore,it is necessary to understand the changes in the income and consumption of farmers in the compensation pilot area after the policy pilot,so as to understand the changes in their livelihoods and provide a basis for the sustainability of the policy.Based on this, based on the literature review of the relevant theories of sustainable livelihood framework, this paper uses the field survey data to build benchmark regression model and quantile regression model to analyze the specific impact of farmers’ sustainable livelihood capital on Farmers’ income and consumption. At the same time, the income of farmers is divided into agricultural income,non-agricultural income and transfer income, and the consumption of farmers is divided into survival consumption, development consumption and other consumption. The heterogeneity impact is analyzed. The specific conclusions are as follows:(1)From the perspective of the total income of farmers,in addition to natural capital, other livelihood capital of farmers can significantly improve the total income level of farmers;for farmers at different income levels, physical capital has a more significant impact on farmers at middle and high income levels, while social capital is closely related to natural capital.Natural capital has a more significant impact on farmers with high income levels;for different income types, physical capital and financial capital have a more significant impact on agricultural income, while non-agricultural income is more dependent on farmers’ economic relations, while age only has a significant impact on transfer income.positive effect.(2)From the perspective of the total consumption of farmers, physical capital and human capital have a more significant impact on the total consumption of farmers;for farmers with different consumption levels, the impact of physical capital on farmers with low-income consumption levels is more significant;consumption level farmers have a more significant impact, and natural capital and financial capital have a more significant impact on high-consumption farmers;for different consumption types, financial capital and social capital have a more significant impact on development-oriented consumption, and years of education have a more significant impact on other types of consumption. Finally, this paper puts forward the following suggestions: first, strengthen the level of material capital of farmers, strengthen the construction of infrastructure such as traffic compensation;Second, improve the regional credit system to provide good credit support for farmers in the region;Third, attach importance to the rural social network and give play to the rural social capital capacity;Fourth, improve regional education infrastructure and provide sound agricultural technology training,Fifth, strengthen compensation policy subject compensation incentive, attract young people to return home.
