| As the division of labor and trade within products based on global value Chain(GVC)is gradually forming and deepening.How enterprises in developing countries take advantage of the opportunity of participating in the value chain to improve their independent innovation capability is a key topic in current academic research.By combing the literature and combining the micro-enterprise-level data of China industrial Enterprise database,customs import and export database and patent database from 2001 to 2013,this paper finds that there may be an inverted U-shaped relationship between embedded GVCS and enterprises’ independent innovation capability and conducts empirical tests.At the same time,the specific channels and moderating effects are further tested,and the heterogeneity of domestic and foreign enterprises is studied.Then the impact of Chinese enterprises’ embedding in GVC on innovation capability is obtained,and relevant suggestions are put forward.The main conclusions are as follows: there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between GVC position and independent innovation capability;The embedment of GVC in domestic enterprises has a significant effect on the promotion of innovation capability,while the embedment of GVC in foreign enterprises has a stable positive effect on the promotion of innovation capability.The technological content effect of intermediate products is the main factor causing the inverted U-shaped relationship,while the effect of OFDI has an obvious promoting effect on innovation capability.The technological gap between enterprises and the world’s leading edge will strengthen the inverted U-shaped relationship between GVC embeddedness and independent innovation capability,while increasing r&d investment can weaken the inhibition effect of GVC embeddedness on innovation capability.Based on the above conclusions,specific policy suggestions are put forward from the enterprise and government levels to help Chinese enterprises improve their independent innovation capacity and enhance their international competitiveness. |
