Farmers’ income is the core of the "Three Rural Issues" and is closely related to rural industries. However,Chinese agricultural development is facing challenges such as rising production costs, deteriorating ecological environment, resource shortages, and blocking foreign trade.Traditional rural management systems and models have been struggling, must continue to innovate and reform. The integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas is an important way to realize the economic transformation of rural industries, broaden the channels for farmers to increase income, and promote the further development of the vast rural areas based on the rural revitalization strategy. Therefore,it is of great value and significance to study the rural industrial integration. This paper first gives a general introduction to the background of Chinese rural industrial integration and development, and builds a theoretical mechanism for the impact of rural industrial integration on farmers’ income according to relevant theories. In the empirical analysis part,by selecting the relevant data of 28 inter-provincial administrative units in China from 2004 to 2020,the evaluation system of rural industrial integration is constructed from four dimensions, the level of rural industrial integration in each region is measured, and the status quo, obstacles and necessity of rural industrial integration in China are summarized.Grey correlation analysis, fixed effect model, threshold model and spatial correlation analysis are selected as the main research methods to verify the income increasing effect of industrial integration, and discuss the impact of the total dimension and four sub dimensions of rural industrial integration on income. The research results show that:(1)Currently,the level of rural industrial integration in all regions of the country is gradually improving, but there is an unbalanced level of integration. The level of industrial integration in some eastern coastal provinces and large agricultural provinces is relatively high, and the western region is relatively low;(2)There is a positive correlation between rural industrial integration and farmers’ disposable income, and it is further found that industrial integration can promote farmers ’ wage income, operating income and transfer income, and has the greatest impact on transfer income;(3)the regression results of the sub index show that the impact of industrial integration on different types of farmers’ income is different in different dimensions;(4)Combined with the traditional division of economic zones in China,it is found that there are regional differences in the impact of rural industrial integration on farmers ’ income;(5)Rural industrial integration has spatial spillovers, which can drive industrial integration in surrounding areas, thereby increasing farmers’ income.Based on the above analysis, this paper mainly gives policy suggestions from four aspects: one is to speed up the process of rural industrial integration;the other is to improve the external environment and create supporting conditions;the third is to strengthen the main body of rural industrial integration;the fourth is to build a close interest linkage mechanism.
