Jilin Province is in a critical period of economic transformation.The traditional development model of promoting urbanization and industrialization through large-scale expansion of construction land has been unable to meet the realistic requirements of "Northeast Revitalization".In the face of multiple constraints such as extensive land use,deterioration of the ecological environment,and resource shortages,the key to achieving high-quality development in Jilin Province has been to shift from relying on the amount of land input to relying on the intensive use of land use potential and increasing land use intensity.At the same time,changes in the industrial structure of Jilin Province also affect the allocation and utilization structure of land resources.Economic growth provides financial support for land use.Urban development is also a process of increasing land value.Urban development and land use are closely related and the interaction is constantly strengthened.Therefore,by analyzing the coupling coordination mechanism between urban efficiency and land intensive use,and exploring the coupling coordination characteristics between urban efficiency and land intensive use in Jilin Province,as well as their spatial correlation characteristics and evolution trends,it is helpful to guide the sustainable development of cities.This paper takes 8 prefecture-level cities in Jilin Province as the research object,uses the super-efficiency SBM model and multi-factor comprehensive analysis method to evaluate the urban efficiency and land intensive use level in Jilin Province,and explores through exploratory spatial analysis and coupling coordination degree model.The spatial agglomeration and spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the coupling coordination degree of the two.This study draws the following conclusions.(1)There is a big difference in the comprehensive efficiency of cities in Jilin Province.Under the existing production technology level,most cities cannot achieve the maximization of urban output,but the level of urban efficiency is in a state of fluctuation.In 2010,the average comprehensive efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of cities in Jilin Province were 0.5601,0.6604 and 0.8477;in 2020,the three indicators were 0.7787,0.8293 and 0.9452,with an increase of 39.03%,25.58% and 11.51%respectively.Pure technical efficiency and comprehensive efficiency have similar trends and are on the rise,indicating that these cities can effectively use the current production technology to improve the total output of the city.Most of the cities in Jilin Province show an increasing trend of returns to scale,indicating that the scale and proportion of input factors in these cities are not optimal,the output of the cities is not saturated,and there is still more room for growth.The cities with increasing returns to scale are mainly on a relatively small scale.(2)During the study period,most cities in Jilin Province were in a state of lowefficiency and low-intensive use of land,and only Changchun and Jilin were in the state of moderate-intensive use.In 2010,the average urban land intensive use degree in Jilin Province was 0.50,and it will rise to 0.58 in 2020,and the urban land intensive use level has increased by 16%.The spatial differences in the level of urban land intensive use in Jilin Province are obvious,and the overall distribution is increasing from the southwest to the northeast,which is roughly consistent with the spatial distribution of the economic development level in Jilin Province.(3)The coupling coordination level of urban efficiency and land intensive use in Jilin Province has experienced the development process of "slight imbalance" → "reluctant coordination" → "primary coordination",and the level of coupling coordination fluctuates and rises,rising from 0.4534 in 2010 0.6971 by 2020.However,the development speed is slow,indicating that there is still a large room for the coordinated development of urban efficiency and intensive land use,and it is necessary to further explore the benign coupling development mechanism of the two.From the perspective of spatial distribution,most of the cities with a higher level of coordination are around Changchun,and the differences between cities are further widened.From the perspective of the relative development level of urban efficiency and intensive land use,the lag of intensive land use is the main reason for the low degree of coordination between the two.
