| China has a long history of ceramic production. In recent years, with the acceleration of industrialization,China’s ceramic production capacity has increased rapidly. At present,China has become the largest ceramic producer and exporter in the world.New ceramic industry clusters are emerging on the traditional ceramic production map of "one town, three mountains",and ceramic enterprises, resources and various factors in the region are increasingly gathered,Create huge benefits for the development of regional economy and related industries. However, most of the agglomeration areas have many but scattered, poor collection and other adverse phenomena,as well as practical problems such as product homogenization, low operation and management efficiency, low technical level and insufficient brand awareness. There is still a long way to go to realize the high-quality development of ceramic industry agglomeration. Therefore,it is very important to effectively reveal the spatial evolution characteristics and driving factors of China’s ceramic industry agglomeration under this background. In order to deeply study the spatial evolution of China’s ceramic industry and its driving factors, based on the panel data of 31 provincial-level administrative regions and10 prefecture level key ceramic producing areas in Chinese Mainland from 2011 to 2020,this paper uses the location entropy index and exploratory spatial statistical analysis method to measure the concentration level of China’s ceramic industry, and uses Arc GIS and Geoda software to visualize the measurement results,To explain the temporal and spatial evolution of ceramic industry agglomeration. On this basis,we further select six driving factors of economic development environment, industrial development level, human capital, policy environment,opening-up level and technological innovation ability for key ceramic producing areas to jointly build a spatial Dobbin model, and analyze its impact on the agglomeration level of ceramic industry in combination with the spatial benefits among variables. The empirical results show that China’s ceramic industry agglomeration has distinct spatial differentiation characteristics, forming a high-value region of ceramic industry agglomeration dominated by Guangdong Province,Jiangxi Province and Fujian Province. The evolution process of the spatial pattern of ceramic industry agglomeration is mainly reflected in the high concentration in the southeast and gradual transfer to the central and western regions. The degree of ceramic industry agglomeration in the eastern region is still significantly higher than that in the central and western regions, and the agglomeration level of each region shows significant spatial autocorrelation, showing a trend of "large dispersion and small agglomeration" as a whole. Moreover, economic development environment, industrial development level, human capital and technological innovation ability have a significant positive impact on ceramic industry agglomeration, which can effectively promote the improvement of ceramic industry agglomeration.Based on the above research results, this paper puts forward the following relevant suggestions: give full play to the guiding role of local governments in ceramic industry policies and related planning, pay attention to the spatial proximity effect of ceramic industry agglomeration, and enhance the regional linkage and cooperation of adjacent production areas;Create a good industrial development environment from the aspects of implementing energy conservation and emission reduction, establishing modern business philosophy and innovating the marketing mode of ceramic products,so as to realize the efficient agglomeration of ceramic industry; From the perspective of ceramic industry transformation and regional economic development, improve the talent management strategy of ceramic industry cluster, and build a high-level talent training and introduction mechanism;Promote the independent innovation of ceramic industry in the cluster area with the core subject, realize the regional dislocation development, and create a distinctive innovation ecosystem of ceramic industry. |
