Research On The Selection Of Leading Industries In Agriculture In Shantou City,Guangdong Province

Leading industries play a leading role in regional economic development.They have the characteristics of high technology level,strong correlation and driving ability,and high growth rate.Leading industries have very powerful driving force to promote regional economic growth.Also leading industries play an significant role in agricultural modernization.Shantou City is rich in characteristic agricultural resources,such as Chenghai lion-headed geese,Chaoyang silk seedlings,and Nan’ao marine products.At present,the choice of the leading industry of modern agriculture in the city is highly subjective,and the wrong choice of the leading industry is one of the factors restricting the rapid development of the modern agriculture industry.The selection of the leading industries of modern agriculture in Shantou City through the method of EWMpirical analysis is beneficial to put forward certain suggestions for the selection and development of the leading industries of modern agriculture in Shantou City.In order to comprehensively evaluate the selection of agricultural leading industries in Shantou City,according to the basic theory of leading industries and the conceptual connotation of modern agriculture,and following the principles of comprehensiveness,operability and objectivity,this paper uses industry correlation benchmarks,comparative advantage benchmarks,demand income Elasticity benchmarks and technological progress benchmarks are set as qualitative analysis benchmarks,and their quantifiable calculation indicators are regional output growth rate,location quotient and specialization index,demand income elasticity,and production growth rate.According to three qualitative benchmarks for the selection of leading industries,namely,the benchmark for agricultural resource endowment,the benchmark for changes in demand structure,and the benchmark for the size of policy space,the qualitative analysis of the selection of leading industries is carried out.The city’s 10 agricultural sub-industry departments conduct index calculation.Considering that the assignment of index weights needs to be both subjective and objective scientific,the entropy weight method(EWM)and the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)method are used to calculate the index weights,and the index weights are obtained by combining the calculation results of the two methods.Then through weighted calculation,the quantitative score ranking of Shantou’s leading agricultural industries is obtained in order: agriculture,forestry,fishery,animal husbandry,services,vegetables,marine products,fruits,live pigs,freshwater products,poultry,grains,livestock,and forestry.Based on the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis,it is concluded that Shantou’s leading agricultural industry choices are: agriculture,forestry,fishery and animal husbandry,vegetable industry and marine product industry,and the following policy recommendations are given: take the agriculture,forestry,fishery and animal husbandry service industry as the leading industry in Shantou City,and Focus on the development of seedling cultivation,intensive processing production equipment,intelligent agricultural equipment,and cold chain logistics construction;with the vegetable industry as the leading industry,we must focus on solving land integration and improving the level of science and technology;with marine products as the leading industry,we must focus on brand building and differentiated development.
