| In 2010, most of provincial TV stations promoted a similar type of program—emotional dating show. Both "Take Me Out" in Hunan satellite TV and "If You Are the One" in Jiangsu Satellite TV are the heated programs which have draw much attention among public opinion in 2010, and even brought a new screen romantic dating war.There are some new features emerging in this new kind of program, for instance the novel forms, sharp language uses, entertainment talent show and heated topics, etc, which have caused high ratings and attention. Considering both "Take Me Out" and "If You Are the One" can be most representative of these new kind of shows, this study will choose these two programs to compare and analyze.Although these two programs are emotional dating show, the discourse activities are abundant, which especially refer to female guests'sensitive debate. Among some comments from mass media, besides they are new style of programs, this study find the other reasons caused these two shows have high rating because their guest or host program words, which cause a heated topic and extensive social debate. So my thesis will focus on "discourse" to do more research.This two programs constitute the discourse by host and men and women guests doing together, men and women guests express their emotion while the host trigger anaerobic emotional control and the speech event. However, the difference between these two programs is each of them has different language using regularity and pragmatic strategy, so have different performance mode and communication effect. This essay will compare with "Take Me Out" and "If You Are the One" from topics, words wheel, hosting style, cooperative principle of discourse analysis and pragmatic aspects of the theory, then will summarize the different words structure and words chossing by host, finally will analyze its communication effect.On the choice of the topic "If You Are the One" chooses biased toward the guests they chose can produce more controversial debates while "Take Me Out" focus on guests'personal emotions so that the topics always much more warmth and romance. Therefore from topic transformation, it can see that the conflict situation of "If You Are the One" is much stronger and disorderly, the topic is talking order were forcibly interrupt, or often appear in the conversation which is not co-operating during the broadcasting. However, "Take Me Out" seems opposite because the topic is sleek and natural gentle, the host converts the topic is much more harmonious between the guests while scenery atmosphere is also harmony."If You Are the One" host conceded words wheel, guests are positive in robbing words, which can launch and deepen topics, finally manufactures a conflict. The conversation of "Take Me Out" is well-ordered, host controls most of dialogue or discourse in transitions with much more introduction, ridicule, explanation, supplement, comfort and encouragement, which guide guests communication.Both "If You Are the One" and "Take Me Out" invite a male host at the same time. The former one is hosted by MengFei, who is calm and rational hosting style while the latter one chose the famous national entertainment host HeJiong, who continues his enthusiasm and lively style features.The cooperative principle is one basic theory of Pragmatics。The discourse activities in "Take Me Out" is much more obey the cooperative principle while "If You Are the One" speech activity in many cases violates the principle of cooperation. However, to some extent, the violation of the cooperative principle makes programs produced different conversational implication and dramatic effects. |
