| Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, rural loudspeakers,as traditional media, have re-emerged and played an important role in epidemic prevention and control. This study selected Z village in Chuzhou City,Anhui Province, and conducted a case study using qualitative methods such as participatory observation,in-depth interviews, and questionnaire surveys. It focuses on the communication practice of Z village trumpets in emergency situations during the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, and how their communication activities affect the community identity of Z village. This study attempts to explore the significance of the existence of today ’s broadcast media and how to better embed rural governance and stimulate rural vitality. In the practice of rural trumpet communication in the emergency state, the rural trumpet in Z village has adopted a different mode of communication, that is,the all-weather circulation of epidemic information, the shift from Mandarin to dialect, and the integration of communication to help epidemic prevention and control. The relative advantages of strong penetration, strong authority, and wide coverage. The study found that there are three dilemmas in the recognition of big horn communication in Z village : first,in the special period of the epidemic, the community recognition function of big horn lacks sustainability and has not yet formed a long-term mechanism;second, the imbalance between the communicator and the recipient in terms of status and discourse power produces an auditory power struggle;third, the status quo of weakening community identity has been formed for a long time, and it is difficult to change only by big speakers. There are two main reasons for this dilemma :one is the characteristics of the speaker media itself, that is,as a spatial media, its time continuity is weak,as a one-way media, its two-way communication interaction with the audience is insufficient;the second is the problem of Z village horn in construction, use and management. The study believes that the status of the big horn in Z village has increased during the epidemic prevention and control period, and the rural big horn communication activities in the emergency state have improved the community identity of the villagers, which is reflected in the two levels of psychological identity and behavioral identity. On the level of psychological identity, first, the improvement of the identity of the villagers group, that ’ I ’ is an indispensable existence in the community;the second is the psychology of villagers and others to share the meaning of life, that is,to look forward to the improvement of the epidemic. On the level of behavioral identity, one is that the horn will mobilize villagers to participate in the public affairs of the community;second, when some villagers touch on the common interests of epidemic prevention, other villagers will ’ reject ’ their bad behaviors. The study also believes that there are three aspects to optimize the recognition effect of rural loudspeakers :first,to rebuild the rural broadcasting authority and enhance the villagers ’ right to speak,so as to consolidate the village community;the second is to adopt a combination of normality and emergency response, not only to pay attention to the response to emergencies, but also to adhere to the mass line of broadcasting,so that the horn is organically embedded in the communication network of rural communities;the third is to integrate the development of new and old media and build a perfect rural social communication network. This study doesn’t arbitrarily think that the improvement of the community identity of villagers only depends on the big horn, but regards it as a part of the rural community communication network, paying attention to its role and influence in the special emergency state. |
