In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless communication systems, millimeter wave communication technology has attracted more and more scholars’attention.Because of its own characteristics,DRA is more suitable for the research and application of millimeter wave band. However,in the millimeter wave band,it has the problems of narrow band and low gain.Based on this, three dielectric resonator models are proposed in this paper.By designing antenna arrays, stacking dielectric resonators, introducing air gaps, and exciting high-order modes, the antenna bandwidth is guaranteed and the antenna gain is effectively improved. The main research contents are as follows:(1)A high gain millimeter wave circularly polarized DRA is designed and implemented.Firstly, the bandwidth of the antenna is improved by stacking DR of different shapes. The cross slot feeding structure is used to achieve circular polarization of the antenna. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna unit is 18.9%,and the maximum gain is 6.7d Bi.Then,a prototype of the antenna unit is made. The simulation basically agrees with the measured results to verify the effectiveness of the design;finally, the parallel feed network is adopted. On this basis, the parallel feeder network is adopted to design a 1×4 antenna array, which effectively increases the antenna gain to 12.2d Bi,nearly twice as much as that of a single antenna.(2)A high gain millimeter wave DRA with double annular grooves is designed.By introducing air slots, the HEM115high-order mode is excited, the relative bandwidth reaches 26.3%,and the maximum gain of the antenna reaches 12.1 d Bi.On this basis, the rectangular slot is improved, and an asymmetric transverse"Z"shaped slot is designed, which not only generates circular polarization, but also excites HEM117mode.The impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 18%,and the 3d B axial ratio bandwidth is 12.8%,The maximum gain is 11.7d Bi.(3)An H-type gap high-gain millimeter-wave dielectric resonator antenna is designed.Firstly, two different medium resonators are stacked to improve the antenna gain and broaden the antenna bandwidth;the microband-H gap coupling feed structure is adopted to increase the degree of freedom of antenna design. On this basis, the dielectric substrate is added to improve the antenna performance. The final antenna impedance bandwidth is 25%,the 3d B gain bandwidth is 19%,the maximum gain is 12.6d Bi,the antenna gain is improved by about 1.4 d Bi,and the stability of the antenna gain is greatly improved.
