With the continuous evolution of the Internet and the development of industrial Internet,smart home,massive wireless communication devices and increasingly complex heterogeneous wireless communication scenarios have brought new challenges to the existing IP network system.Considering the energy consumption,communication quality,transmission range and other factors in different application fields,many wireless communication technologies have been developed.However,due to the difference of wireless transmission protocol,these heterogeneous wireless devices cannot communicate with each other directly,which greatly hinders the ability of data interaction and information sharing between devices.To realize the communication between heterogeneous wireless devices,traditional schemes use a gateway device to do the conversion of heterogeneous protocols.However,the introduction gateway devices will bring additional hardware cost,traffic bottleneck and single point of failure are also unavoidable.as the infrastructure,the gateway device needs to be deployed in advance,which is not friendly to mobile and temporary scenarios.There are also some schemes using signal transmission modulation and demodulation to realize the mutual communication between heterogeneous devices,but this scheme requires special hardware and also leads to the problem of channel utilization decreasing.If all devices can be incorporated into the IP system,devices can identify each other through network layer addresses and build logical connections based on addresses to transmit data.This avoids the need to directly modify the wireless communication protocol and introduce additional hardware.In view of the above situation,this topic adopts NewIP protocol as the network layer protocol,and designs and implements a heterogeneous wireless networking system based on NewIP.The heterogeneous wireless link is used as the bottom transmission channel of data packets,thus,the difference of the lower communication link is shield for the upper application.As a network layer protocol with variable-length addresses,NewIP can be extended indefinitely to solve the problem of IP address exhaustion caused by massive devices.In addition,a shorter address can be selected to shorten the packet header length and reduce the resource overhead of wireless packet transmission during LAN communication.The system is composed of kernel mode and user mode.NewIP protocol stack is implemented in the Linux kernel and user mode provides user interaction interface.The system provides socket interfaces for users to establish connections and send/receive packets,as well as interfaces for modifying routing entries and configuring device addresses.The test results show that each module of the system can complete the designed function correctly,and the interconnection among the heterogeneous wireless devices is reached by installing in this system.
