Radial Line Slot Antenna(Radial Line Slot Antennas,RLSA)have excellent properties such as high gain,low profile,high efficiency and easy integration,and are widely used in shipborne,airborne and satellite applications.The main work of designing this kind of antenna is how to arrange the slots of the radial line slot antenna so that the performance of the antenna is optimal.In order to guide the arrangement of these slots,the model based on the conventional rectangular waveguide slot antenna has been used in the literature to study the arrangement of these slots.The model of the conventional rectangular waveguide slot antenna ignores the field diffusion and the coupling between the slots in the circumferential direction,and this dissertation proposes a small sector slot array model.Controlled slot array antenna performance.1.Research on the small sector slot array model.In this dissertation,a small sector slot array model is established,which considers the radial and circumferential slot coupling and field diffusion,which is beneficial to improve the performance of the antenna.By studying the electromagnetic properties of the model,we have obtained the best arrangement method and formula to achieve the best effect of slot radiation in the isolated sector.2.The realization of minimum-coupling high-performance broadband radial line slot antenna.After research,when the circumferential spacing of adjacent sectors satisfies 0.5λg or 1λg,the coupling degree of the two adjacent sectors is approximately 0.At this time,there is almost no electromagnetic coupling between the adjacent sectors of the radial antenna,which can be as an isolated electromagnetic radiation unit,these small sector slot arrays can be sequentially arranged along the central period to form a radial slot antenna array according to the isolated sector slot arrangement technology we proposed.In order to verify the performance of the radial line slot antenna designed by the above technology,we designed a radial slot antenna with a radius of 130mm and carried out processing and testing.The measured relative bandwidth reaches 37%,and the axial ratio is less than 3d B in the bandwidth range;the ratio of the measured gain of the antenna to the lateral area is 0.045d B/cm~2,which is much higher than the 0.01 d B/cm~2of the traditional high-gain radial line slot antenna.The experimental test results and simulation results are in good agreement,indicating that it is feasible to use the proposed model to analyze and design a higher performance radial line slot antenna.
