The development of the Internet and digital technology has profoundly affected the way people live their daily lives, and in the context of information capitalism, knowledge, information and content have largely replaced material materials as a brand new productive force.the continuous development of Web 2.0has broken the traditional relationship of receiving and transmitting, and audiences have started to become the main driving force of communication, and the content they produce is used by capital as a source of gaining economic The collusion between the cultural products of social software and commercial capital enables the transformation of culture into capital.Social platforms have created a seemingly free and egalitarian communication environment, but in fact they have obscured the exploitation of users, who are becoming free labourers one and all. From the perspective of the political economy of communication, this paper adopts the perspective of "digital labour",focusing on the short video platform Dou Yin,which has the largest number of users today, and analyses the exploitation of ordinary users in Dou Yin.The first chapter describes the theoretical and practical basis for the birth of digital labour;the second chapter analyses the production mechanism of labour and some characteristics of the use of Dou Yin based on the platform;the third chapter analyses how Dou Yin exploits its users from three aspects: online news, live e-commerce and short video "grass";the last chapter presents the The third chapter analyses how Jitterbug exploits its users in three ways: online news, live ecommerce, and short video "grassing".This study argues that the users of the Douyin platform are labor processes from viewing behavior and video creation, users spend a lot of time watching short videos and live broadcasts, contributing platform traffic and data, but they have not received any returns, and the content created by spending a lot of energy is also used by the platform for free. And all kinds of data generated in viewing and production behavior are also sold by the platform to advertisers. On the other hand, social platforms can also be seen as advertising information carriers that promote the sale of goods. The platform embeds a large number of advertisements in short videos and live broadcasts, thereby accelerating the circulation of goods and providing convenience for capital accumulation, and the object of payment of these advertising goods is the platform users, who suffer from the double exploitation of the platform and the merchant. To sum up,the social media platforms represented by Dou Yin,under the slogan of "recording the good life",have transformed people from a passive audience to an active audience. The rapid development of internet technology may seem to give people the right to record and display their lives on public platforms, but in reality it is about using their personal data, interests, leisure time and relationships to create surplus value for capital. It is therefore necessary to criticise the phenomenon of "digital labour" in order to awaken the audience’s rational perception in a pan-entertainment environment,so as to achieve the free and comprehensive development of human beings.
