| With the advent of the era of educational informatization,the research on the application of virtual reality technology in the field of education is increasing.However,the research on the integration of virtual reality technology and geography teaching is still in its infancy.In2017,the high school geography curriculum standard put forward the suggestion of "deepening the application of information technology",and suggested that teachers should pay attention to the use of virtual reality technology(VR),enhanced Reality technology(AR),which provides implementation recommendations for the use of virtual reality technology in geography teaching;at the same time,high school geography involves a large number of geographical areas and landscapes that students have not visited or witnessed,and these areas and landscapes are far from student life.For this reason,traditional multimedia presents these geographical landscapes and regions through pictures,videos,etc.,but it is difficult for these media to fully express the overall characteristics of geographical things,let alone bring students immersive experience.Since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in 2020,practical activities such as geographical field trips and research trips have been greatly restricted.In order to implement the suggestion of "deepening the application of information technology" in the new version of the curriculum standard,and to make up for the problems existing in traditional geography teaching and the current situation that it is difficult to carry out geography practice activities under the background of the epidemic,it is imperative to explore the integration of virtual reality technology and geography teaching.This paper deeply integrates virtual reality technology and geography teaching,gives full play to the advantages of virtual reality technology,and does the following research on the integration of virtual reality technology and geography teaching:(1)On the basis of referring to a large number of relevant literatures,this paper clarifies the relevant concepts and master the relevant education and teaching theoriesy.Based on the current development of virtual reality technology and the characteristics of geography teaching,this paper analyzes the feasibility of using virtual reality technology in high school geography teaching,and sorts out the relevant knowledge of applying virtual reality technology in high school geography textbooks.(2)This paper analyzes the material sources of virtual landscapes,studies the integration of virtual reality technology and geography teaching,and selects "Karst Landforms" in Chapter 2,Section 3,Chapter2,Section 3 of the Hunan Education Edition Senior High School Geography Compulsory Course as a teaching case,fully Integrate the relevant knowledge of karst landforms with virtual reality technology,including: shooting real scene materials,stitching panoramas,merging content,processing,and finally outputting the 3D virtual landscape scene of Wanfenglin Karst landforms.(3)This paper designs the teaching process of "Karst landforms",takes the first class(1)and the first class(2)of a middle school in Guiyang as the experimental objects,sets up a control class and an experimental class,and uses the produced three-dimensional scene in the experimental class,uses the test paper to test the students’ mastery of the relevant knowledge of "Karst Landforms" in the control class and the experimental class after the teaching experiment,and analyzes the test results of the two classes,and obtains the students’ opinions on the experimental class through questionnaires.The virtual reality technology is transported to the experience of geography teaching,so as to obtain real,objective and scientific research results.The results of the study are as follows: The results of the questionnaire analysis shows that students have a high degree of acceptance of the use of virtual reality technology in geography classrooms and hope to increase the frequency of virtual teaching in future teaching;Combined with the analysis of the average score,passing rate and performance distribution interval of the experimental class and the control class,it is concluded that the virtual reality technology-assisted teaching is beneficial for students to master the relevant knowledge of "Karst landforms";Comparing the scores of the control class and the experimental class in each dimension of core literacy,it is concluded that the application of virtual reality technology in geography teaching is conducive to the cultivation of students’ core literacy of geography. |
