The development and popularization of the Internet, mobile Internet devices and social media platforms have broken the traditional media pattern, reshaped the communication scene, and transformed the presentation mode and behavior characteristics of the communication subjects.Taking the impression management of politicians in the scene of social media as an example, social media broadens the communication scene of politicians and makes the impression management of politicians undergo adaptive changes and adjustments. This paper takes Goffman’s "dramaturgy theory" and Molowitz’s scene theory as the theoretical support, takes "the use of social media by politicians" as the object, and explores the behavior change and strategy adjustment of politicians’ impression management in the scene of social media. This study mainly adopts the methods of text analysis and case.Based on the analysis of the social media use behavior of politicians,it is concluded the self-presentation characteristics of politicians,as well as the strategies they used and possible risks they may encounter. In the context of social media, the media-using-behavior of politicians reflects the characteristics of multi-subject linkage and the supremacy of national public interests. In order to achieve the ideal effect of impression management, politicians will adopt corresponding communication strategies, including the active exposure of personal "background",the positive interaction with other users, and the establishment of a strong personal style. As a tool to implement impression management for politicians, social media has constructed a self-speaking discourse platform for politicians, but it has also increased the risks of impression management for politicians, such as fragmentation and entertainment of politicians’ images,over-exposure of "backstage" and impression crisis under crisis events.
