| HINOC(High Performance Network Over Coax),a new technology proposed by our country,uses the existing coaxial Community Antenna Television network to set up a broadband access network,which provides users with high performance bi-directional network services such as web surfing,voice,multimedia service and so on.In this paper,the bandwidth allocation and the multicast group management mechanism used in the developing of HINOC prototype devices are mainly discussed.Firstly,the mechanism of HINOC MAC is introduced briefly.Then the fixed mode of bandwidth allocation which is useful in the testing of the functions of HINOC devices is analyzed in detail.There are several implements of the bandwidth allocation,all of which are designed for different purpose.After that,a multicast group management mechanism which supports multicast in HINOC devices by keeping a multicast table is designed and implemented on the basis of the features of the prototype and the topology of HINOC.In this mechanism,the multicast table is set up,maintained and deleted by dealing with IGMP messages.The result of the testing on the platform of HINOC prototype shows the correction and stability of the bandwidth and multicast group management mechanism designed in this paper. |
