Song Dynasty Poetry is the crystallization of China’s excellent traditional culture,and holds an important position in the history of Chinese poetry.Song Dynasty Poetry covers a wide range of subjects,including all aspects of life.In terms of content,it emphasizes reasoning and discussion with an emphasis on intellectual interest.Its goal is to seek innovation and change,creating another paradigm of classic poetry after Tang Dynasty Poetry.It has profound value for both literature appreciation and education.As the proportion of Song Dynasty Poems in Chinese language textbooks increases in primary school,the importance of teaching Song Dynasty Poems in primary school Chinese language education increases accordingly.Therefore,it is essential to carry out targeted teaching using Song Dynasty Poems in primary school Chinese language textbooks.This thesis follows the latest Chinese Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)and mainly focus on 21 ancient poems selected by the unified edition of Chinese Language Textbook for Primary Schools.It investigates and analyzes the current status of teaching Song Dynasty Poetry in primary schools,explores the potential drawbacks existed in the teaching of Song Dynasty poems in Chinese language education and identifies their causes,then finally proposes strategies for improvement with the intention of further exploiting the textbooks,accommodating the learning abilities of students and teaching poems more effectively.The introduction section of the thesis describes reasons for conducting this research,the significance behind this research,current and previous works in the field,and gives an outline of the contents and methods involved in this research.It focuses on why this research should be performed from two perspectives:the interpretation of Song Dynasty Poetry and the teaching of Song Dynasty Poetry.It also summarizes previous and current research works on teaching Song Dynasty Poetry in primary school Chinese language education.The main body of the article consists of three chapters:In Chapter 1,the features of the Song Dynasty Poems selected by the unified edition of Chinese Language Textbook for Primary Schools are analyzed.Firstly,the arrangement of poems across textbooks and the characteristics of the Song Dynasty Poems in the textbooks are analyzed.Then,based on the themes of the Song Dynasty Poetry in the textbooks,the intrinsic meanings of the poems are interpreted as "patriotic and inspirational poetry","pastoral poetry",and "philosophical poetry with intellectual interests",providing material for the subsequent research on teaching strategies for Song Dynasty Poetry.In Chapter 2,based on the results of a questionnaire survey on the teaching status of Song Dynasty Poetry using the unified edition of Chinese Language Textbook for Primary Schools,the potential drawbacks behind the current teaching of Song Dynasty Poetry in primary school Chinese language education are summarized,and the drawbacks are analyzed in order to find effective solutions.In Chapter 3,practical teaching strategies are proposed considering four aspects:Problem strategies,comparative strategies,contact strategies,activity strategies and situation strategies,in order to put theory into practice.This article emphasizes the necessity of more extensive teaching of Song Dynasty Poetry in elementary Chinese language education.It comprehensively considers the characteristics of Song poetry in the textbooks,analyzes the current situation of teaching in classrooms,explores the drawbacks and proposes strategies to improve the level of teaching Song Dynasty Poetry.The aim is to provide a practical approach for implementing the teaching of Song Dynasty Poetry in primary school Chinese language education.
