| The whole book reading teaching is an important part of Chinese reading teaching in junior high school,and it plays an irreplaceable role in improving students’ reading ability and overall cognitive ability.However,for a long time,the effect of the whole book reading teaching in junior high school is not satisfactory.Ye Shengtao’s skimming theory which born in the Republic of China era takes“skimming teaching guidance” as the core and answers the question of “how to carry out skimming teaching in the middle school” comprehensively.This theory not only has important guiding significance for the skimming teaching at that time,but also can provide inspiration for the whole book reading teaching today.Today,when the whole book reading teaching in junior high school is frequently encountered with problems,it is very necessary to sort out,summarize and analyze Ye Shengtao’s skimming theory,and to seek effective strategies for the the whole book teaching from the theory.This paper is divided into introduction,text and conclusion.Among them,text is the main body of the paper.It is composed by the following five chapters.The first chapter is an overview about skimming and the whole book readinng teaching.Firstly,the properties of skimming in different periods are introduced.Secondly,the basic introduction about the whole book reading teaching is made.Finally,the relationships between skimming and whole book reading are explained,including the relationship between skimming as reading method and the whole book reading,the relationship between skimming as course form and the whole book reading.The second chapter focuses on Ye Shengtao’s skimming theory.Firstly,the formation process of the theory is explained.Then,the theory is summarized from four aspects.They are the connotation of skimming,the choice of textbooks of skimming,the contents and procedures of skimming,the benefits of skimming.The third chapter is the investigation and problems’ attribution about the whole book reading teaching in junior high school.Through the “questionnaire survey” and“interview survey”,it is found that many students have the behavior of blind reading and inefficient reading.The performance is that they did not develop good reading habits and they did not complete the basic reading tasks.Some teachers have the behavior of arbitrary teaching and simplified teaching.The performance is that they did not adopt a reasonable organization model,did not set the teaching objectives reasonably,did not plan the teaching process reasonably and did not treat the teaching evaluation seriously.Through further analysis,it is found that the blindness and inefficiency of students’ reading is related to the teaching behavior of the teachers.The fourth chapter discusses the enlightenment of Ye Shengtao’s skimming theory on the teaching of whole book reading in junior high school.Firstly,the teachers should adopt a reasonable organization mode to reduce the difficulty of teaching implementation.Secondly,the teachers should set the teaching goals according to the curriculum standards,book characteristics and the actual learning situation of the students,promoting the smooth implementation of the teaching.Thirdly,the teachers should design the teaching process reasonably.They should help students reduce reading disorder through giving pre-reading instruction,drive students to read efficiently through arranging reading tasks,optimize students’ reading effect through organizing post-reading activities.Finally,the teachers should use evaluation to improve the quality of students’ reading.Chapter five,according to the content proposed in the fourth chapter,makes an instructional design about “Red Star Over China”,providing a reference example for front-line teachers.Ye Shengtao’s skimming theory is rich in connotation.It provides beneficial enlightenment for the whole book reading teaching in junior high school.In the future,we should continue to draw nutrition from the thoughts of the educators of older generation,and constantly promote the development of the whole book reading teaching. |
