There are a series worrying problems in the current middle school students’ extracurricular reading.In the face of these problems, We should suit the remedy to the case and actively looking for ways and strategies to deal with.Ye Shengtao pay special attention to skimming as it in Chinese curriculum teaching and the contents of the intensive reading, and writing are equally important. He thinks skimming is not only a way of reading at the same time is also a kind of course form. Emphasizes the skimming to form the good habit of reading, cultivate the ability to appreciate literature, finally achieve the purpose of the don’t need a teacher to teach. He firstly propose the guidance of skimming process, and puts forward suggestions for skimming time and materials. Skimming theory not only has profound influence at the time, but also to the current extracurricular reading has important methods guiding significance. The motivation of this writing there are two things:one is skimming theory of Ye Shengtao, observes in detail, in order to set up a system, scientific theoretical framework.
