Under the background of the large scale of the elderly population in China,the increasingly prominent empty-nest problem and the imperfect old-age security system,the elderly in a widowed incident will face many problems such as physical,psychological,social relations.If the negative influence can’t be eased,it may lead to a higher risk of disease,death and other serious consequences.Therefore,social workers should take advantage of the case work method for urban widowed old man grief counseling intervention,thorough understanding of widowed old man’s inner demand,using the environment resources,improving the service object adaptability between individual and society,and ensuring the efficient work of grief counseling services.The author selected the widowed elderly people in the L District as the research object,where the practice took place.First of all,in order to obtain the living status of the widowed elderly in the community,the author carried out a questionnaire survey on the living status of the urban widowed elderly,and analyzed the real status of the widowed elderly from the aspects of physical,psychological and social support.Second,the widowed elderly in the community were selected as the case study object,and the grief counseling service of the service object was interfered by rational emotional therapy model and social support theory,and a series of grief responses were observed.Through this information,the author analyzes the problems faced by the widowed elderly and their causes,and uses social resources to help service objects rebuild social support networks,so as to eliminate the grief of the widowed elderly as much as possible and encourage them to return to society,providing new research ideas for social workers to intervene in the grief counseling of the urban widowed elderly.
