With the development of social and economic life,the transformation of the principal conflict facing Chinese society in the new era has put forward new requirements for national quality and quality of talents education.Therefore,the country urgently needs more mathematics talents.The National Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)issued in 2018 advocates six core competencies,which compares the original five competencies,it lists mathematical modeling as a compulsory subject.Mathematical modeling,as one of the core competencies,is of great significance for improving students’ innovative thinking ability and comprehensive quality,and the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy has risen to a position that cannot be ignored.The researcher found that students’ mathematical modeling literacy is generally low during front-line teaching.In order to explore effective ways to develop mathematical modeling literacy among high school students,the following work was conducted in this study.1.By reviewing the relevant literature,we summarized and concluded the research on mathematical modeling at home and abroad,and found that most of the research was on mathematical modeling,and less research was done on developing students’ mathematical modeling literacy.2.Design and implement questionnaires and test papers about the mathematical modeling literacy of high school students and interviewed some teachers.Descriptive statistical analysis of the survey results was conducted with the help of SPSS 17.0.After analysing the survey results,the following issues were revealed:⑴.Students have little access to mathematical modeling and lack of understanding of mathematical modeling,however they are aware of the importance of mathematical modeling and have a strong interest in learning mathematical modeling.⑵.Teachers generally lack a systematic understanding of mathematical modeling,they are not enthusiastic enough to teach mathematical modeling courses,seldom conduct theme-based instruction of mathematical modeling,and neglect the cultivation of students’ mathematical modeling literacy.3.Through the investigation and research on the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy of high school students,the following suggestions are given on how to improve the mathematical modeling literacy of high school students:⑴ School: The school should not only encourage and support teachers to teach mathematical modeling,but also establish a scientific and reasonable teacher evaluation system.At the same time,the school should also set up scientific research and innovation activities in a planned way to cultivate students’ interest in mathematical modeling.⑵ Teachers: Teachers should first establish the concept of lifelong learning and strive to improve their own quality,meanwhile,teachers should reasonably carry out mathematical modeling exploring activities,in addition,teachers should correctly select mathematical modeling teaching materials.4.Combined with the concept of the new curriculum standard,two examples of mathematical modeling that taking the choice of "equal principal payment" or "equal loan payment" for mortgage repayment and the description of the growth law were designed and implemented.
