| Under the background of Industry 4.0,intelligent production has become the mainstream, and industrial robots have become the key to the transformation of my country’s manufacturing industry and are the inevitable choice to start the era of intelligent production."Made in China 2025" clearly proposes to promote the development of robots towards standardization and modularization.Modular robots are the general trend of the development of China’s robot industry in the future.Compared with foreign countries, the development of domestic modular robots started late, but relevant domestic research institutions are catching up.However, with the improvement of the public’s aesthetic level, the research status of domestic modular industrial robots focusing on functions and ignoring appearance aesthetics has become more and more apparent.Today, when the domestic and foreign industrial robot market competition is increasing and the homogeneity of products is serious, excellent appearance design will undoubtedly allow industrial robots to take the lead in the competition. Therefore, this article introduces perceptual engineering into the modular industrial robot design process, and transforms the user’s perceptual needs into design elements to guide the modular design, configuration, and optimization process of modular industrial robots, which improves the modularity of current industrial robots. The status quo of ignoring the aesthetic needs of users in the design also provides new ideas for the optimization of future industrial robot module configuration schemes. In order to configure a modular industrial robot that conforms to the user’s aesthetics, this paper deeply explores the user’s perceptual needs for industrial robots, distinguishes and screens the user’s perceptual needs into representational and connotative levels, and quantifies the perceptual needs of the representational level as Specific design elements: Take the glass substrate handling robot as an example.Based on the design elements, the glass substrate handling robot module is divided and configured, and the modular industrial robot configuration scheme is screened based on the connotative level perceptual vocabulary, and the selection is most in line with the user’s aesthetics. The modular configuration scheme of the company was finally verified through user interviews and questionnaire surveys.Through the final verification test, compared with the sample glass substrate handling robot, the scores of the four configuration schemes are all positive and higher than the sample score. Therefore,it can be concluded that it is feasible to introduce perceptual engineering into the modular design process of industrial robots. It can improve the problem of ignoring the user’s aesthetics in the current modular design of industrial robots. |
