As the core component of millimeter wave mobile communication terminal and millimeter wave radar equipment,miniaturized wideband encapsulated array antenna plays an important role in improving the integration and performance of millimeter wave system.ME-dipole antenna has the characteristics of broadband and stable radiation,but also has the disadvantages of large structure size and high profile height,which is not conducive to the design of miniaturized packaged array.In order to solve this problem,a novel miniaturized ME-dipole antenna and array of millimeter wave are proposed by using the method of meandering structure and defective ground structure loading.The main innovations and work of this paper:1.The millimeter wave miniaturized and dual polarization ME-dipole antenna structure is proposed.The profile height of the antenna is reduced by loading a Z-shaped meander onto a vertical shorted-circuit patch as an equivalent magnetic dipole and the horizontal dimension of the antenna is reduced by loading S-shaped meandering structure on the outer edge of the horizontal electric dipole.Compared with of the traditional ME-dipole,the height of the proposed antenna is reduced by 33.3%,the relative bandwidth is 20.3%,and the dual polarization radiation characteristic are stable.2.A 1×4 millimeter wave dual-polarized compact packaged antenna array based on LTCC technology is researched and designed.A low loss substrate integrated coaxial line parallel feed network with different feed phase is designed by using the proposed miniaturized dual-polarized ME-dipole antenna as the antenna element.The test results show that the designed packaged array has a 22%relative working bandwidth and can cover the two 5G millimeter wave communication bands 24.25-27.5 GHz and 27.5-29.5 GHz.The dual-polarized radiation characteristic of the array are stable,the beam scanning range is±45°,and the maximum gain in the side emission direction is 10.8 d Bi.The array radiation efficiency is about 73%.3.Based on LTCC technology,a 140 GHz millimeter wave radar 4 transmitter and4 receiver ME-dipole packaged antenna array is designed,and the array size is only 8×8×0.6 mm~3.A wideband ME-dipole antenna fed by slot coupling of SICL back cavity was proposed,and the U-shaped defect ground structure loaded between the transceiver array was designed,which effectively improved the isolation characteristics between the transceiver array elements.The relative working bandwidth of the proposed 1×4 transmitting and receiving arrays is about 20%,and the maximum radiation gain is 14.5 d Bi.The in-band radiation characteristic are stable,and the isolation degree between the transmitting and receiving arrays is greater than 45 d B.
