In the process of realizing the transformation of curriculum objectives from subject knowledge standard to subject quality standard,the value of history education has been paid more and more attention.The latest revision of the History Curriculum Standard for Senior High School emphasizes that the fundamental task and goal of the history curriculum are to cultivate morality and cultivate students’ core quality of history.Under the guidance of the new Senior High School History Curriculum Standards,the unified senior high school history textbook adopts the compilation style of general history plus special topics and further selects the teaching content.The reform of curriculum standards and textbooks requires the reform of traditional teaching methods.Thematic unit teaching is not only conducive to addressing the dilemma of insufficient classroom teaching hours and large content capacity through the overall design of the unit,but also conducive to the systematization of students’ learning and the cultivation and improvement of core literacy in the history discipline,further highlighting the educational function of the history discipline.Based on this,the author reviewed and combed the relevant research in the academic circles at home and abroad,and made clear that theme-based unit teaching was the research direction,starting from the theoretical overview,case analysis,application strategy,unit design exploration and other contents of theme-based unit teaching.The main body of this article consists of four chapters.The first chapter clarifies the concepts of thematic teaching and unit teaching,and believes that the theoretical basis of thematic unit teaching studied in this paper mainly includes system theory,cognitive learning theory and historical materialism.The significance of implementing thematic unit teaching in senior high school history can be summarized into three points: first,it is conducive to the implementation of the requirements of the new history curriculum;second,it is conducive to the needs of the unified edition of senior high school history textbooks;third,it is in line with the cognitive development characteristics of senior high school students,and it is conducive to promoting students’ learning and quality cultivation.The second chapter analyzes some articles on the thematic unit teaching of history,and believes that the current thematic unit teaching has the following general characteristics: clear theme,comprehensive objectives,content integration,and strategy effectiveness.After reading the relevant literature,selects two articles about teaching design and implementation of thematic unit teaching as the case study object.On the basis of sorting out the main contents,this paper compares and analyzes the similarities and differences and strategies of the two cases in the elements of thematic unit teaching design,and summarizes the inspiration from four aspects of theme determination,goal formulation,content integration,and task-driven teaching.The third chapter combines the characteristics summary,case analysis and personal reading experience accumulation of the previous article to put forward the application strategy of implementing the thematic unit teaching of high school history.The application strategy includes the determination of the theme and objectives based on the previous analysis,the teaching strategy used in teaching,and the reflection and improvement after class.According to the operation process,This chapter introduces the main ways to determine the unit theme one by one,the problems that should be paid attention to when establishing and formulating the teaching objectives,several teaching strategies applicable to theme-based unit teaching,and the reflection and optimization after classroom teaching.The fourth chapter combines theoretical analysis with personal practice,selects the fifth unit of the history textbook "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(Part I)","Domestic and foreign troubles and national salvation in the late Qing Dynasty",to explore the thematic unit teaching design.According to the previous strategy summary,describes from four parts: preliminary analysis,determination of unit theme and goal,design of unit teaching process and design reflection.In the teaching design,follows the principles and strategies of system design,deeply integrates the contents of unit 5,and designs a complete teaching plan of a subject unit.
