With the in-depth practice of curriculum reform,how to develop students’ key competence and enhance their ability of deep learning are hot issues of concern to the teachers in basic education nowadays.Students’ learning effect is directly related to classroom teaching,and effective teaching design is an important way to improve classroom teaching.In traditional instructional design,both “activity-oriented” and“indoctrinating teaching” models are mostly used and both of them have certain disadvantages.However,“Understanding by Design(UbD)” theory is students-oriented.It is an approach to students’ mastery of knowledge,concepts,skills,emotions,and other competencies,and emphasizes the use of assessment evidence during the learning process so that students can develop their comprehension and reflective abilities as well as improve classroom efficiency.Therefore,under the guidance of UbD theory,the instructional design focusing on enhancing students’ comprehension ability meets the needs of the current curriculum reform in China which has important reference for classroom teaching.Consequently,based on UbD theory,the practical study of unit instructional design has become the focus of this thesis.This study used literature research method to analyze the domestic and international research directions of related theories;constructivist learning theory,situated learning theory,and disciplinary structuring theory as the guidance;survey research method to find out the current situation of students’ chemistry learning,and interview method to understand the current status of teachers’ current instructional designs.In response to the problems in the student survey questionnaires and teacher interviews,this study combined unit teaching with the reverse design in the UbD teaching model and constructed a general process and design principles for unit teaching design based on UbD theory.Based on the above theoretical study,the author chose Chapter 4 of Chemical Reactions and Electricity in High School Chemistry(Selective Compulsory 1)of the Human Education Edition as the practice unit for the unit teaching design based on UbD theory,and carried out the teaching practice in two regular classes of the second year of senior high school in B High School,Datong City.After the practice,the teaching results were analyzed from many ways,such as tests,classroom observations and student interviews,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The unit instructional design based on UbD theory can make the goal of instructional design more distinct.(2)Unit instructional design based on UbD theory enables students to learn continuously and deeply on the basis of understanding.(3)Unit instructional design based on UbD theory can help students promote their systematic thinking ability.(4)Unit instructional design based on UbD theory assists students in achieving key competence in chemistry... |
